I'm not sure what to title this but I wonder if anyone else has had a similar feeling.

As an avid porn fan, I often watch pornstars scenes and then stalk their social medias and/or watch interviews. I've noticed in recent times while I love the porn industry at current in terms of the quality of production and the sheer volume of available porn in nearly every possible niche.

What I'm noticing more and more is I much much much prefer watching interviews with pornstars from the past. I watched interviews this week with Flower Tucci, Tory Lane and Charlotte Vale who were all notable stars in the early 2000s who've since retired and something I notice is a lot of stars from the past feel more like 'people' than modern pornstars who feel - or at least feel like they're trying to act - more like celebrities. It often feels like they're always promoting a brand or always trying to cultivate an image.

Some examples I can give are stars like Kazumi who is basically in promote mode 24/7 it feels like. Lily Lou and Hailey Rose are similar. Even if I enjoy their scenes it makes no sense to follow them elsewhere because it at least feels like its all part of the same performance.

Watching even the megastars of the early 2000s like Jenna Haze or Lex Steele interviews always feels like coming away from a conversation with a person who just happens to do porn. They're interesting, engaging and people first. The new gen sometimes feel like caricatures.

This is probably a very niche issue that few if any other viewers have noticed but I'm happy to have somewhere to get it off my chest lmao.
