Spanking Ethics
On the tail (pun perhaps intended) of another thoroughly enjoyable spanking session with the Mrs yesterday (leather tawse and hand-smacking at her request, both wheelbarrow and OTK), I've been thinking about the following points as an spanking code of ethics, if you will. These apply equally to sexual, disciplinary and maintenance spankings.
- Consent
Underpins everything, must be obtained for each session, must be freely given and can be revoked any time. This includes consent for additional rules or requirements imposed by the dom during or in connection with spankings. The CNC concept is perhaps a little problematic in this regard but needs its own overarching consent grant / boundaries / alteration / revocation process even more so.
- Promotion of Body Positivity (Bottom Positivity? π)
The act of adult spanking, whether in a sexual, maintenance or disciplinary context, should promote body positivity of the spankee / sub. The spanking and any beforecare or aftercare should reinforce the spanker / Dom's fondness or appreciation of the spankee / sub's bottom, thighs and nether regions as appropriate, even if they are being formally punished for disciplinary reasons or receiving a maintenance spanking. This need not be sexual but in non-sexual cases, should demonstrate a level of respect for the spankee's private parts that contributes to the spankee's overall body image. While disciplinary and maintenance spankings should involve a level of discomfort and humiliation depending on agreement, this should be in the act of stripping (if applicable) and being spanked per se.
- Aftercare
This can take many forms but should be offered on each occasion and in a way deeply appreciated by the spankee / sub. Moisturising, caressing, soothing positive talk or even a good hug are appropriate. Other gestures like offering the spankee their favourite food and / or drink are also good. For maintenance and disciplinary spankings, aftercare necessarily builds the spankee / sub up and offers encouragement to do better / be better next time following the pain and humiliation of a spanking. Aftercare can be as ritualised or informal as both parties agree but something should really be present following each spanking session.
I appreciate everyone has their own ideas and may well disagree or have varying opinions on the above. But food for thought I think. What do Redditors think?
