Minorities, confession time. What stereotypes are you embarassed to fit?

(Long time lurker, first time poster. Happy to meet you all :) )

As it reads in the title. Whether you're Black, Asian, Latino/a, Jewish, Muslim, LGBTQ, or anything else not White, Christian & straight - I'm sure you're at least familiar with some of those awful, awful stereotypes other people hold about you & your group.

And I wanna know: While they are totally untrue and awful and harmful and yeah, yadayadayada, whatever - for them to appear in the first place, there must've been some element of truth to them, right? White men just wouldn't come up with some random bad bullshit about a group. So, maybe *you* are also one of these little ashamed elements of that partial truth, hm? Ever thought about that?

Of course, there's all these bad, mean-spiritied ones you all like to complain and bitch and whine about for some reason because apparently you can't find a better use of your time. The idea of your group being weak, submissive, whiny, slutty, greedy, stupid, devious and so many more. Maybe you know you perpetrate that bigoted viewpoint and just feed those hating your group with even more reasons to justify it, in addition to members from your community also disliking you for it.

But... maybe you just can't help it. You just still are a massive cheating seducing slut *while also* being latina, María. You just still fold like laundry whenever someone brings up a single counterargument in a conversation, *while also* being Asian, Cho. And what can you say, Rachel, it maybe just happens that you end up being a selfish gold-digger all of a sudden every now and then in your relationships. Got nothing to do with you being Jewish!

Maybe that's just who you feel you are, and didn't liberalism always teach you to be who you are or want to be? Must be really confusing and conflicting sometimes I imagine. Poor thing.

And it must be even worse when the stereotypes & racist beliefs aren't even springing from malicious intent. You know, the whole "But it's meant as a compliment!" stereotypes from your friendly old white grandma or grandpa down the street, to speak broadly. The "Wow, you are so smart in science, it comes to you people quite naturally, right?" I bet so many Asians have heard. The "Wow, you're such a good dancer, you got that rhythm in your blood" the Black ladies at a party end up hearing many a time late into the night when they just wanna let loose a bit. The BAP & the JAP, where they congratulate or even envy or admire you for being so well-off and always able to go to the best jobs or colleges and on sprawling shopping sprees, but somehow still tie it into your race. Ughh. And so many more.

Like what if you fit those? That's gotta be really hard. You just like dancing or shopping or studying hard after all, and you wanna keep doing that, and these people always *sound* nice when they say it and you smile politely at them, thank them, maybe blush a bit... but it also feels so bad, doesn't it? You still play right into their preconceived notions of you and reinforce their nicely-dressed up ugly ideas. That must suck.

So, because I bet this gets you all so hot and bothered and frustrated - you can now let it all out in the comment section. What stereotype, whether fully negative or positive only on the surface, of your ethnic or religious or sexual or what have you group are you so terribly embarassed to actually fit & play into to some degree? Whether it's about NSFW or SFW stuff, relationships, hobbies, your job, your way of dealing with people, your taste in culture of any kind - whatever.

There's no need to be ashamed of it anymore. That's just who & what *you* are after all, right?

Just remembered the movie "Past Lives" and feel it kinda plays a lot into WMAF lol. Thoughts and other portrayals of this in media?

So I watched "Past Lives" about when it came out, and apart from finding it pretty good, I also just remembered it a bit after I got into this kink. And wow, I feel it's pretty into WMAF, the superiority of White Men and the kinda pathetic AM.
