42 [F4M] #Online married and feeling neglected maybe I’m ready to be a little naughty

42F, married, and honestly I never thought I'd be writing something like this.

I've been married for a long time and I've spent years being the supportive wife, understanding the things my husband has been through, especially after his years in the military and everything that came with that. I've always tried to be patient and loving, even when he shuts me out or doesn't communicate with me. But lately I'm realizing how damn lonely I've become.

I miss feeling wanted. I miss attention. I miss having someone actually curious about me, wanting to talk to me, making me feel like a woman instead of just a wife going through the motions. I've spent so long putting his feelings and struggles first that I'm starting to wonder what happened to mine.

I'm not looking to blow up my life or pretend I'm suddenly unhappy every second of every day. It's more complicated than that. I still love my husband. But there's a part of me that feels neglected and restless and honestly... a little tired of pretending I don't crave something more.

Maybe I just want someone I can talk to at the end of the day. Someone who makes me smile when I see their name pop up. Someone who notices the woman underneath the wife and responsibilities.

I don't know exactly where this goes, and maybe that's part of the excitement "~"

I'm just curious if there's a man out there who understands what it's like to connect with someone who's been feeling invisible for a long time.

42 [F4M] Married, but somehow still lonely

I’m 42, married, and honestly I’ve been feeling so damn lonely lately. My husband was in the military for many years, deployments, a lot of things he’s carried with him, and I’ve always tried to understand and support him. I love him, but I feel like I always get the version of him that has nothing left to give me.

We barely talk anymore. I get shut out, ignored, and pushed away emotionally. I’ve tried talking about it, I’ve tried encouraging him to get help, and sometimes he does for a little while before giving up again. Meanwhile I’m just here, still loving him, still supporting him, and slowly feeling like I’m disappearing inside my own marriage.

I’m not looking to bash my husband or pretend my marriage is perfect. It isn’t. I just miss feeling connected to someone. I miss having someone genuinely interested in me, my thoughts, my day, the little things. Someone I can laugh with and actually look forward to hearing from.

Maybe that’s why I’m here.

I think I’m just craving that feeling of being seen again.

And honestly, I’m a little scared of how much I miss it.

42[F4M] Married and feeling more alone than I ever expected

I’m married and still very much in a committed relationship, but lately I’ve found myself feeling incredibly disconnected from the person I’m supposed to be closest to. There has been a huge lack of communication between us over time, and I think that silence has slowly created a wedge that neither of us really knows how to close.

The strange part is that I don’t necessarily know what I’m looking for right now. Sometimes I just want someone I can actually talk to without feeling like every conversation is going to turn into an argument, an awkward silence, or nothing at all. I can be the type of person who doesn’t know what to say or how to respond, so instead of communicating, I shut down and stay quiet, and I know that hasn’t helped anything.

I’m not pretending my marriage is perfect, and I’m not here looking to bash my spouse or make myself out to be completely innocent. I know I have my own part in how we got here. What I miss most is feeling genuinely wanted, interesting, heard, and connected to someone. I miss having conversations that don’t feel forced, laughing with someone, being able to talk about the random things that happen during the day, and having that feeling that someone actually wants to hear from me. Maybe that sounds simple, but when you’ve gone without it for long enough, you realize how much those little things can matter.

I’m curious what other married or committed people have experienced when they reached this kind of crossroads. Did you find someone outside your relationship who gave you something you were missing, and if so, what did that actually turn into for you? Did it make the loneliness easier, or did it make everything more complicated? I’m not looking for someone to tell me that cheating is automatically the answer or that I should immediately blow up my marriage.

I’d honestly rather hear from people who understand the complicated middle ground of being committed to someone while simultaneously feeling emotionally alone. If you’ve been in that place, what did you learn about yourself, and what do you wish you had understood before getting involved with someone else? *notabot
