40 M4F CST Midwest.... treat this like a second job interview
With the second job interview your excited. You constantly have thoughts going through your head. "Wow, they really like me". You start planning your routine. Thinking about how you're going to get to work the new friendships that you're going to make. Do they have a microwave for lunch?
After the second interview, you don't feel as confident. Maybe you shouldn't have deactivated your job search on indeed. Days go by then weeks go by, finally you get the thanks but no thanks email if you get any confirmation at all.
Looking for someone on Reddit is very similar. You feel like things are going so incredibly awesome. You can't believe you found such an amazing person, even though you literally don't know a single thing about them at that point. Then you answer a question truthfully and honestly and that's the end of the conversation. Back to square one, but that's also the great thing about Reddit. Fluctuating feelings fill a space that you haven't felt in a long time. It makes the hunt worth it.
