33 [M4F] #LA - British guy looking to meet thoughtful people and see where a good connection leads

Mid-30s British guy. Constantly traveling for work, perpetually mildly sleep deprived, and always looking for good conversation in unexpected places.

Somewhere between airport terminals, late-night cafés, and telling myself “just one more chapter” at 1am, I seem to have accidentally built a life that involves a lot of movement and a collection of stories from cities I barely had enough time to properly learn.

Personality-wise, I’m calm in most situations, quietly sarcastic, emotionally aware, and probably more affectionate than people expect once I’m comfortable. I like people who can move naturally between sincerity, intelligent conversation, terrible jokes, without making any of it feel forced.

Things I reliably enjoy:

  • Interesting conversations about things that fascinate you
  • Dabbling in board game design
  • Old bookstores and hidden cafés
  • Cooking elaborate meals for no real reason
  • Bad films that leave you wondering what you actually watched
  • Walking through unfamiliar cities with no particular destination
  • Pointing out cats mid-sentence like it’s a medical condition

I’m also extremely easy to convince into spontaneous plans, obscure museums, or finding the best late-night food in a city neither of us knows properly.

Work means I spend a lot of time around people but the constant moving makes it difficult to actually connect. Besides I’m definitely more of a one-on-one person, I like depth, good banter, mutual curiosity and the kind of chemistry where conversation is natural.

Physically: 188cm, dark hair, British accent, and carrying the faint exhaustion of someone who has explained “yes, another delay” to themselves in multiple airports around the world.

What I’m looking for is honestly pretty simple: someone interesting and curious about the world with whom conversation feels easy.

Tell me:

  • A strangely specific thing you love
  • A board game that reveals your best or worst personality traits
  • Or something you think more people should care about

Also let me know where you saw my post, I'm trying out some more obscure subs to see what happens!

33 [M4F] #LosAngeles - British guy looking to meet thoughtful people and see where a good connection leads

Hi there — I’m a mid-30s British guy constantly on the move for work and looking to make genuine connections with good people all over the world.

I’m the kind of person who likes quiet confidence, thoughtful conversations, and people who can be both playful and sincere. Equal parts emotionally aware and mildly chaotic, I can spend one evening reading about ancient civilizations or psychology and the next sending terrible memes at 2am. I also tend to disappear down random research rabbit holes for hours at a time.

A few things about me:

Into:
Good coffee, long walks, finding strange new places, late-night conversations, films that stay in your head afterward, and cooking like I’m hosting a dinner party for people who don’t exist.

Work:
I’m a consultant, which means I travel constantly. It sounds far more glamorous than it actually is, but it has given me a habit of collecting stories, observations, and airport frustration from all over the world.

Personality-wise:
Calm, observant, sarcastic in moderation, and definitely more one-on-one than loud group settings.

Important additional information:
I will absolutely stop mid-conversation to point out a cat. Street cat, café cat, aggressively unfriendly cat — doesn’t matter. They’re all excellent.

Looks:
British accent, 188cm, dark hair, and permanently carrying at least mild sleep deprivation from travel.

What I’m looking for:
Honestly, just hoping to meet interesting people. Friendship first, genuine connection always. I’m open to talking with people from anywhere as long as the conversation feels easy and mutually interesting.

You:
Curious, kind, self-aware, and capable of talking about more than surface-level stuff. Bonus points if you have an oddly specific interest, dry humor, or a tendency to overthink random things at midnight.

Tell me:

  • something you could talk about for hours
  • a weirdly specific opinion you have
  • or the last thing that genuinely made you laugh

I’m a British guy in my 30s whose job involves a fair bit of travel. It’s great for seeing new places, but not always ideal for meeting new people so I thought I’d try the internet’s slightly more interesting corner instead.

Quick summary: curious person, frequent traveler for work and someone who enjoys thoughtful conversations, random tangents, and the occasional terrible meme.

A bit about me

• British in my 30s
• Consultant by day (I promise I have a personality outside PowerPoint)
• Naturally curious I fall down a lot of podcast, book, and history rabbit holes rapidly
• I enjoy wandering bookshops, markets, and new places without much of a plan
• Occasionally attempt to design board games with questionable success
• Big fan of cats and will happily exchange pet photos

I’m fairly easygoing, a little sarcastic, and I enjoy conversations that wander into interesting places, the kind where you start by talking about your day and somehow end up debating strange history facts or ridiculous hypotheticals.

Fair warning: conversations with me tend to drift into curious rabbit holes.

What I’m hoping to find

Someone thoughtful, kind, and a little curious about the world. You don’t need to share all the same interests and it’s usually more fun when people bring different ones to the table.

Mostly I just enjoy having someone to talk to: sharing random thoughts or interesting things we’ve come across.

If it turns into one of those rare connections where conversation feels effortless and you genuinely look forward to hearing from each other, that would be pretty great too.

No pressure or expectations here, just hoping to meet someone interesting and see where conversation goes.

When I’m not working

You’ll usually find me exploring wherever I happen to be, wandering through bookshops, farmers’ markets, or hiking somewhere with no particular destination. Other days are quieter: cooking, reading, or listening to a podcast while attempting to make something vaguely edible.

Still searching for the perfect coffee along the way.

If you message…

Tell me one of these:

• a random fact you like
• the last rabbit hole you fell into
• a book or podcast you’d recommend

Or just send a cat picture, that works too.

PS: If you message, there’s a good chance I’ll eventually ask what the most interesting thing you’ve learned recently is. I’m always collecting new rabbit holes.
