Right Pic Wrong Text Chain
A while back I started a new job. I was always sending Snapchat messages to friends. I am an analyst in a lab and kind of a nerd. Many of my friends are nerds, others get a kick out of knowing I'm an analytical chemist that works with cool instruments like GC, IC, and ICP-OES.
At the same time if you look at my posts you'll see that I have a slight bit of a wild side. I have tons of pics from previous endeavors here on Reddit that were financially lucrative. (If you ask I'll tell).
On the other side I am a husband with a wife that we have been together for a while and sometimes things need to be spiced up.
I found a pic on my albums that I thought would get the wife excited. I also had a filter for Snapchat that let you upload pics from your albums to send as disappearing messages. Last but not least, I had just assembled a rack for argon gas cylinders that I wanted to share with my nerds/friends.
I sent the pic of the rack to a group. Then I went and uploaded the pic to my Snap and THOUGHT I was sending it to my wife.
-Of course I got distracted sending something naughty at work when someone called my name.
-Of course I selected the previous group of people.
-Of course I hit send and waited for the Mrs. to tell me how hot the pic was (Spoiler alert, she is not a visual person so it didn't work anyway).
Instead I went back and saw ALL the names with empty red squares. I sent apologies right away. The silence was scary. The messages were read, but no replies for what felt like forever. Fortunately the pic had my wife's name and a reference to put our kid to bed early. The replies came back almost all at once.
All the replies were fine. "Yuck" from the fellas. "It's OK." from the ladies. My lesbian friend even gave a "Don't worry about it." My old work wife cussed me out saying my real wife would kill me (...and that it was impressive), but otherwise I survived.
I do wonder what the ladies who saw it actually thought, but it's definitely in my best interest not to ask.
In case you're curious...
