Acmella extract research: results #2

So I try to keep this short, since I already said most of anything in the previous thread and that one was excessively verbose. Acmella is a plant that causes tingling and feels extremely similar to nettles.

Spoiler: I didn't have a hands-free orgasm.

I now tried to make the 5ml acmella extract for $5, that was labeled "use only 2% of this for cosmetic application", more potent, by washing it with 1.5ml DMSO (which is also a pharmaceutical enhancer that makes drugs absorb through skin at much bigger rate than normal) and it will automatically separate into two visible layers inside a 10ml syringe. So this was very easy just some shaking. (Inform yourself about DMSO dangers, it is not toxic by itself but due to what it does care needs to be taken.)

Unfortunately last time I apparently confused the oil layer with the DMSO and applied the upper oil layer, which back then seemed impressive in effect, but I hoped for a 3x or 5x being possible. So I was very disappointed to see that the bottom layer was like 1ml DMSO, because it meant that at best all parts had equal spilanthol in it, and it only worked better last time, because the oil was temporarily "contaminated" with DMSO. (Edit: reading my last report, it seems as if the layers were actually flipped last time and I did not confuse them - this is very weird and should not happen - but it was a different extract bottle ... mysterious!?)

Using the method with the cock ring / rubber band to keep blood flow and rate of absorption consistent, I experienced the DMSO from the bottom layer as equally or somewhat less potent, but still strong, and more "stingy" than the upper oil layer. It also felt too potent at times, and I wondered if the extract would be 3x stronger, perhaps it would just not feel nice anymore instead of getting you off 3x better. Sometimes it is like this with nettles, or at least it feels this way. I had not masturbated for 5 days this time, and also coincidentally took testosterone-boosting stuff and such things.

I also did put some of the upper layer into my anus, which feels really nice.

The tingling felt really really good and I was sort of feeling that it got me closer and watching porn felt great and better than just wanking it. But then nothing "really" happened in the end, it just didn't trigger me. So I started going bonkers after 90 minutes and several times redosing the stuff and wiping it clean (because of precum diluting the extract). And my dick was really numb to the touch at this point, like from nettles. I had to take cock ring off for 5 minutes because it was getting a little cold. It was getting frustrating. And so I took a lot of the DMSO-contaminated oil and smeared it over whole dick, and balls and like whole anus area, in the end the stuff was everywhere and this is like not the best idea. And my urethra probably got inflamed (despite being numb) because it just felt so interesting to push it even deeper, and I had this impression that this was the "secret" to make it work better. I hope I won't get a bladder infection, but was careful. I was really fucking horny after 5 days and with like 1.5x the testosterone in blood, it was just driving me nuts.... The tingling got more and more inconsistent with the numbness and constant reapplications it seemed. But in the end it got very strong again, so I don't know why that is.

Anyway, it was not staying hard after like 2 or 3 hours at this point it felt like too much of a failure. So I tried micro-wanking it and it didn't work and I just didn't really know what was going on anymore. So I wanked it very fast with a normal grip and almost instantly came within like 8 seconds or something.

I mean, this stuff it should clearly work and it feels strong-ish enough that I should have been able to orgasm barely when putting in the effort and concentration. But more and more I get this feeling, that there is something about it that's just "missing" to trigger the orgasm. Like it def. triggers the nerves that are responsible for the touch and pressure sensations, as evident by the tingling/pleasure and numbness. But maybe there are special nerves in the penis that are totally different, and it does not trigger those nerves, and then you just don't cum? It feels 100% like this could be true. But then again, according to the science it is not really, at least for all we know currently. However some amount of research is still lacking, about how nerves in the penis actually trigger orgasm. So who knows.

Anyway, we now know for sure that DMSO can only enhance skin penetration if mixed with the extract and it will separate very fast and not yield a higher concentration in some portion you could syphon off. So the best idea is to shake the syringe for like 10 minutes (not just 3 minutes) in hopes to get a sort of temporary emulsion and like shake it before each use also. And then use the upper oil layer. I can't recommend smearing DMSO stuff all over your body and pumping it in your anus at all. I just did this once "for the science" and never will do it again. However it seems very safe to do this with the pure acmella extract, which also works just very slowly and not as strongly and you can't redose that much because the oil saturates the skin.

I got another bottle of this stuff and only used like half of the 5ml bottle (despite a lot of it dripping everywhere on floor etc ...). So another "less crazy" experiment will follow the next months when the moment is right. But right now I am just frustrated I am just taking a step back. Maybe a combo experiment with nettles?

I'm not sure what to make of it though. Maybe I was not in the right mindset, but I don't think for me personally this works well (or at all) to actually ejaculate hands-free from it. I am the kind of guy who could never come with like a 15W vibrator. I need like 60W and 100W vibrators. And with the amount of nettles I use, it is just the same story. It needs to be really strong and at least one reapplication.

This only leaves the "get this 1kg bag of pure extract from Alibaba" and "grow yourself then butane extract" options for me, to make sure I am on the "safe" side with potency. I did order seeds of the plant for a few $ just because. If they grow well perhaps in a year I will blast the flowers with butane through turkey baster glass tube to do the DIY extraction that allegedly could go up to 10% spilanthol ... I mean with Alibaba you get a HUGE amount of extract for like 5000 people. But the price is also too huge for me. What was it?; $160 or something. Shame that nothing stronger is available on Amazon. I won't invest more money into this.

Shit this was very verbose again. Sorry.

acmella extract results: further research needed!

Nettles are not the only plant that can cause tingling. I once tested a self-made extract of Sichuan pepper, and I deemed it as non-viable for various reasons (weak, builds tolerance, short lived, etc) even if the extract was 10x stronger. Like with chili peppers, Sichuan feels impressive when you first taste it, but then the more you eat of it, the less obvious the effect. Just that peppers feel hot but Sichuan does not feel hot it feels pleasantly tingly/buzzing instead. So in this manner it just can't really work to trigger orgasm. The tingling from Sichuan also feels very smooth/soft and electric, it is not the same as nettles, but not inherently bad either.

However spilanthes acmella is different: it lasts much longer and also feels very similar to nettles. And it seems possible to redose it several times at least as well. There are already several products on the market with acmella sold as clitorial gels. No one ever has had a hands-free orgasm from those gels though, and there is tons of shit in them to dilute whatever little ingredients it has.

So I bought pure acmella extract for $5 on Amazon. This extract is not meant for direct skin application. The product description said "use 2% of this for skin products". So beware that if you buy a skin oil with acmella, it might be a strong dilute of actually pure extract. I still had to use DMSO though to make it work to any meaningful degree. DMSO is often used as DIY medicine and rather healthy and non-toxic in small amounts (such as less than 1ml as needed for the purpose of just wetting the glans). However it has this unique ability to carry all sorts of substances into the skin and blood that don't really belong there. This includes drugs and also a lot of toxins, and some toxins that even wouldn't make it into the blood if ingested. So there is a certain risk with this, if you got a "dirty" extract of some sorts with whatever chemicals, that you will be the only person who is harmed by it because some toxin doesn't absorb via skin contact without DMSO. Also you have to be careful when handling the DMSO, to not touch any household "dirt" like glue/paint/heatpaste/whatever + the DMSO accidentally, because it basically makes some of this dirt absorb into your blood, unless you wash it off instantly. Anyway I am always careful in that regard, and personally deemed the risk of dirty extract to be rather small and negligible for a test. And the ChatGPT said there aren't any toxins in the plant naturally that could be dangerous. It only warned of unresearched effects on blood pressure and such things being possible due to the alkaloid profile of the plant family. But this would only be a concern if much bigger amounts were used, like when oiling up the entire leg or something. But the area on the glans penis is very very small by comparison so in that sense it is rather safe.

I am uncut and the amount of fluid that fits under my foreskin if the glans and foreskin are dry is pretty much 0.1ml (two drops). So it is very hard to redose this oily extract, because it hardly evaporates or absorbs. With pure water or alcohol or DMSO, a certain amount of redosing is possible if waiting 5 minutes or so. I already made the skin dry with alcohol to prep, then applied the oil several times in 20 minutes, then mixed pure DMSO under the foreskin to catch all the oil, then again some oil, then some DMSO later. It really was the best you could do given the potency. As you can see we are talking 0.2ml DSMO here mixed into oiled-up surface. Then perhaps 0.4ml of the oil with spillover. The amounts you can apply are microscopic sadly, but it works.

On the upside though, the cost of a 2h session is like $0.4 at most.

Now I did not have an orgasm, but it was definitively tingling quite a lot some of the time. It was only after an hour that I discovered a second trick to make the tingling more intense: I put a lose rubberband around my dick (like a cock ring) just so that it would keep the blood inside even when not erect and make it a little more pumped than normal, but not as tight as that it would turn really blue or numb. Presumably this works much more than with nettles, because there is less incoming blood circulation "stealing" the compound from the skin, but at the same time the surface area of the glans is maxed out for maximum absorption. The difference between totally erect and not erect is like a 3x in surface area, and this is a real problem when losing the erection, you can feel the difference within 1-2 minutes perhaps.

But even then, for me personally the tingling was not quite strong enough. I'm one of those people who needs at least 20-30 plant tips for a nettle session.

So the next step to make it work would be to get a stronger extract. What I received had a little alcohol and mostly oil in it. My guess is 20% alcohol and 60% oil or something. Now according to Claude, the only sure and easy way to make it 2-3x stronger is to defatten with hexane. While this is not too difficult to DIY at home, the main issue here is that hexane is neurotoxic (somewhat similar to gasoline), so you need to do this with a vacuum chamber (ideally lab-grade) to make sure you evaporated all the hexane in final step. Unfortunately, I don't have a vacuum chamber.

Since the oils in the extract limit how much of it you can apply, and hexane (allegedly) removes most of the fats, this would further increase the amount of extract you can dry/absorb with your skin to a considerable degree. Not sure if this is really true if processing already extracted oil, but AI kind of suggested it more or less in that context.

The numbing of the glans was also not as extreme as with nettles. Though this was perhaps like with nettles a phenomenon that is just proportional to the amount of tingling.

The extract I bought was like $5 for 5ml (cheapest pure on Amazon), and they sell this stuff pure for beauty applications. It seems those are all what is known as "solvent extracts" and some possibly alcohol based and most possibly no other solvents. There were some bad reviews that it wasn't working at all, but also a lot of reviews that it was quite strong if used pure. I guess for this $5 product the quality is just inconsistent, but it wasn't a scam product or some sort of dilution. So I am just assuming the one I got was average/good. But it could be true that you buy 10 different brands in the $5-$50 range and 3 of them will be like a 3x of what I got. No idea, I think that would just be lucky. To the contrary it seems there are tons of brands in the $50 range, that are not nearly as potent as this cheap extract I got, since they are all intended for direct skin use and even advertise "advantages" of their product that speak of lower strength (like not being as oily/greasy and softer with less harsh pricking).

So what I learned from the experiment:

  1. Don't masturbate for at least 7 days, get it really sensitive to the max
  2. apply 50:50 DMSO:acmella under foreskin several times with drying periods, 20:80 is more skin-safe
  3. use light rubber band to keep blood in glans penis
  4. like with nettles no fiddling
  5. possibly redose once or twice at most if glans don't look so oily-wet anymore (the oil stuck like a reservoir under foreskin for 30+ minutes)

Please note pure DMSO on dry skin can possibly cause peeling/damage if there is repeated exposure. I never had issues with that though, only some people really do.

Perhaps for someone exceptionally sensitive (like people only using 1-2 nettle leaves), acmella extract with DMSO can already cause HFO if you abstain for a week and make yourself super horny with AAA++ porn, and also put in serious effort? But I think really you would need a more potent extract for most people, if not the pure agent that causes the tingling.

For women it is conceivable that it could be viable. And also if you wipe the oil off with alcohol, the effect quickly disappears. So there isn't this "safety" issue like with nettles, where experiencing super hard forced unwanted orgasms for 2 hours straight is a real possibility.

Anyway, this stuff is fairly common in sales in highly concentrated forms, financially accessible, and it is very similar to nettles. So it might be the real deal for an orgasm cream? Just the strength is not quite enough.

It seems Alibaba is full of raw and pure extracts, but the site is for wholesale/bulk. However it is normal on Alibaba that you can receive a fairly large quantity of a free sample (like 5-20g in an envelope, instead of 10kg in a drum) for lab testing QC and such. Perhaps this is an even better way to source stronger extract at almost no cost for research purposes. But you have to be smart when communicating with them, pretend to be a company interested in buying huge quantities, in a way that is authentic. Only then they will possibly send those small quantities for a few dollars or for free. There is no "buy button" for this kind of thing. Also the products listed there are much more professional, some of them list the precise extraction method even, and you have extracts that seem to claim 10% spilanthol content. The ChatGPT said that normal extracts you can still buy on Amazon vary wildly, from 0.5-3.5% spilanthol approximately. And to get higher than that in the 10% range, you need to use hexane or supercritical CO2. And you can search for this on Alibaba but not Amazon.

UPDATE: So I have been browsing for the highest spilanthol concentration. Apparently something like 40-60% has been documented in scientific papers and the AI pulled out companies that list that range ... but they don't really look like actual sellers (or scam) and have no price lists or webshops or such things. The highest I found so far for a still reasonable price is 20% spilanthol of 1kg (!) for $180, half of this is shipping cost. Now I can't say this item looks overly trustworthy (no HPLC or verification for the claim of 20%), but it doesn't look like outright scam either and everything else checks out. There are a lot of listings where they make conflicting statements, bad translation, etc. it is normal on this site. Personally $180 is a bit hefty for me - since there is no true certainty that if you dissolve this powder in DMSO it will make this killer orgasm liquid that works for everyone. But the odds are fairly high I think that it would and only imagine if it does.

Another idea is to use the "BHO with butane" method on the raw flowers (those are easily available on Ebay), the same way you would do it with cannabis flowers. While this is somewhat laborious and dangerous, it is more accessible and probably faster than messing with Alibaba sellers pretending to buy massive wholesale quantities to get free/cheap samples - if the $180 is outside of your financial realm or waiting months for it to arrive + risk of interception by customs is too uncomfortable. If you are browsing through thousands of acmella products on Amazon, most are probably low-strength, expensive or just not trustworthy to begin with - that's a much harder situation possibly than just blasting butane through a tube and having the flowers and tube arrive the same week via local sellers. Realistically though the DIY butane will only yield 10% max, and then you need to freeze it to remove gunk, and after that to get to like 30-40% you need an actual chemical lab basically. I would say with butane, expect something >3% and less than 10% for sure if you do this for the first time with only kitchenware.

It seems the safest and easiest bet is to bite the bullet and just throw a few hundred dollars at it.

So more research is needed. If someone could get their hands on just 1ml of a 10% extract, this would be enough for 2-4 tests. Still needs to be combined with DMSO to potentiate effect. but I am fairly certain this would be strong enough for most people to just work, if fairly horny/motivated and abstaining from orgasm for several days.

UPDATE: I could not wait 7 days so I just mixed 50:50 DMSO:extract in a syringe and it would separate into 3 stages: upper clear layer (DMSO and some oils), bubbles and lower brownish layer (presumably oil and the bulk of it like the layers were close to 50:50). This is the opposite of what ChatGPT told me would happen, so I never tried this. I tested the upper clear layer and it seemed much stronger and had more bite than the pure oil with DMSO. Tingles were much stronger than before, almost too strong at times (it varies a lot with blood flow). But I didn't manage to orgasm, it was too soon and then I had to leave and also I was retarded about it. The numbing was also considerable. However then I started masturbating and came within seconds. This suggest to me, that the numbing and tingling doesn't target the receptors well that trigger orgasm, but it targets receptors well that cause pleasant sensations. Kind of like when avoiding to touch the tip of the penis when masturbating and only touching the glans. This also feels pleasurable but much harder to cum like this. I suppose there are "skin stretch" receptors that play a major role in triggering orgasm, and the spilanthol mainly triggers the "skin touch" receptors. Edit: It seems the issue is that the pacinian nerve cells are very deep below blood vessels even, and they are responsible for sensing vibration and rapid deformations. So since the blood removes the spilanthol thus lowers its concentration much more in the deeper layers, it probably can't be helped that the sensation is "incomplete". Basically like with a vibrator just in reverse.

Anyway the huge big news is that this probably means, that DMSO can wash the oil and most of the spilanthol will be in the DMSO portion and then possibly settle over time in the intermediate layer or remain in DMSO. Which is the best thing you could think of! Next time I will use 1ml DSMO to wash 5ml of extract, and then pull out all the DMSO plus the bubble layer. This can in theory yield a 4x extract, exactly what is needed for just $5 again!

TL;DR: The secret seems to be to dump 5ml of acmella extract and 1-2ml DMSO into a 10ml syringe, then shaking it for 2-3 minutes, then discarding (i.e. putting back into vial) almost all of the 5ml oil portion in the lower layer (but not the bubbly interface layer above). When I did wet the glans with the remaining top layer just once, it produced very strong tingles very fast and it didn't even really irritate the skin for me much. A very loose rubber band around penis can keep it fully pumped and produces consistently strong tingling. I made sure that I bought pure extract not intended for direct skin use (just 2% of this = cosmetic strength). Whereever DSMO touches the skin, it can suck all sorts of substances from the skin into the bloodstream, like toxic lightbulb dust or insecticides or cleaning agents. If anything gets anywhere but the glans penis (fingers, desk, etc.) it needs to be wiped/washed immediately and great care must be taken.
