My doctor visit, and the strange reason this is probably my final post

After about 9 months of waiting, I finally got to see an endocrinologist this past weekend about my boobs and feminine fat distribution.

I had to fill out a questionnaire of frankly quite embarrassing questions, many of them about sexual performance, and I also had to take a blood test without being allowed to eat.

the nurse then misplaced my questionnaire, which meant I had to repeat all my answers to the endocrinologist in person. He then inspected (and yes, of course, touched) my chest, penis and testicles. Of course that was going to happen, but knowing ahead of time didn't make it any less awkward.

He pulled up my test results and read them off to me. My testosterone was actually quite high (yes, for a cis male, even) and the majority of my sex hormones were also within the reference ranges. Estradiol was slightly elevated (I won't know exactly how much until I receive the full test results in a letter) but he barely even mentioned this as a sidenote.

In short, there was no medical diagnosis, and no clear cause. I don't have breast buds and my balls are a normal size (which, yes, he verified by holding them up against his reference beads).

I guess I was hoping for clarity, and maybe selfishly an easy way to explain myself to family and friends, but instead, it seems like I'm just built like this for some reason. It's all just genetic luck, or some unknown environmental factor, or something. I can finally move on from the waiting, but... now I'm not sure how.

Great news! I'm finally seeing an endocrinologist this week!

I'm not sure what to expect, and there weren't any notes attached for the appointment. If you've gone through a similar process, please tell me anything you think could help! What did you talk about, what did they ask, how should I get ready?
