Paired my first Cuban with beer...

A corona A. Fuente, with a Guatemalan Lager, found it to be a smooth pairing. Surprised how low the nicotine kickback was as I haven't had a cigar in years. Hubby baught some sticks for me from the cruise ship he went on in the carabian/south America. Do you think most cruise line big port citiy brick and mortar stores carry legit and/or cheaper cubans that the ships themselves? Thank you guys, have a nice one.

Lancero Recommendations

I’ve been on a lancero phase lately. What other lanceros should I try?

Storage Advice

I recently bought a box of cubans, but it will be around two months before I can put them in a humidor, the space I plan on putting them is around 60-70 F,

I also have very limited resources, all I have is some vacuum seal bags,

Whats the best way to store them to keep them in their best condition in my situation,

Diesel Whiskey Rabbit Hole Bourbon Barrel Aged

Celebratory cigar for me today. Officially a CCST and got hired on at a new job today!

Today’s cigar was a Diesel Whiskey Rabbit Hole Bourbon Barrel Aged. Nice consistent and mellow taste throughout the entire stick. No canoeing and burned well. Wrapper didn’t appear only but pretty good amount of tooth on the ash. Glad I got a five pack, definitely enjoyed this and looking forward to the next one!

She said yes! (Also am I first person to smoke a Cohiba with a white monster?)

I proposed a couple days ago and decided to celebrate with this Cohiba siglo 4 with about 3 years of age on it. Was super excited to try it. But it was a little bit of a letdown it was more mild than I was expecting with a slightly tight draw (I lost. my perfect draw tool) it was an objectively good cigar but was overpriced would prefer a d4 or Monte no 2. Got notes of hay and honey but I’m glad I scratched that itch to try a Cohiba.

Micallef A

Tried this bad boy today. Micallef A 6x60. Not usually a larger ring gauge guy (other than the flatheads) but this one was good. Upon light up I got immediate notes of dried fruit, chocolate, earth, and white pepper. Those flavor notes followed through till the middle of the second third where it turned into a chocolate bomb. Construction and ash were solid as always with this brand. Very tasty and I recommend. Next time I would get this in a smaller vitola though.

Oliva Serie G Special is a damn treat

First time I had it the draw was pretty bad and it was constantly burning on one side only and going off but I found it delicious

When I found it again I bought a bunch and this time I had one of the best smoking experience ever, it burned perfectly

Next time I'll go to the tobacconist I'll try to understand if it's possible to put down an order for a box, sadly supply is low here apparently :(

Humidity levels in wooden humidor and Boveda packs

I'm not new to cigars, but I'm no expert either. I've just received my third (medium) wooden humidor and I'm thinking about Boveda pack humidity levels. I currently use 320g packs at 72%.

I have the same model of humidor already, and it appears to have a very good seal, with humidity at around 72% even when completely full and well-aired a few days ago (stock hygrometer calibrated). My cigars tend to light and smoke well and I've only had a hint of mould a few times on the odd stick in around 10 years.

I initially defaulted to 72% because I thought my first humidor wasn't as well-sealed. After I got the big Boveda pack inside, there was no space for a hygrometer. It remains fine.

If 72% is too high as the actual level in the humidor, how quickly does humidity drop for one or two cigars after they leave a humidor to a lower humidity environment, like a cigar case for a few hours? I never really smoke straight out of the humidor, and I've never had any real problems. Is the delay dropping the cigars' humidity to optimal levels?

What % Boveda pack would you recommend for a wooden humidor with a good seal?

Shade to black

This cigar came to me as a gift. I don’t get too excited about cigars as a celebrity collaboration because it just seems gimmicky to me but I’ll try anything once.
The song “blackened” was on what is imo the last really great Metallica album. This cigar falls into the category of everything that came after. It’s lighter, more approachable, well put together and I can see why people like it. It’s just not for me.
This thing had all the personality of a brown paper bag. Which I could have rolled up and smoked for the same experience flavor wise. It does get points for excellent construction and burn.

Need help

Found mold in the top tray of my humidor. Was on some sticks to. Tossed those and a few on some cellophane wrapped ones. Tossed the wrap. Any help how to clean it?

Yerandy G BHK 54 custom rolls!

I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews on farm rolls not being 100% puros. Based on the information I’ve obtained through some reliable sources, these seem to be legitimate. What has been everyone else’s experience with custom farm rolls?

Used to love CBid - any other sites I should consider?

I used to frequent CBid to purchase cigars for myself and my pops. He's 92 and enjoys the Torano Hogshead, while I like to try all kinds.

Recently, it seems as tho CBid pricing is through the roof. Tack on the excise tax and it's even worse.

I can certainly purchase my smokes locally, but I know of no outlet in the Milwaukee area that sells the Hogshead. Appreciate any and all suggestions for other sites I should check out.

Thanks in advance!

My father La gran oferta

Today I smoked my father’s gran oferta. I had heard good and bad things about this cigar so I thought I would see for myself. The smoke had a semi sweet tobacco flavor throughout with light red pepper dancing in the background. There was also a wood flavor I couldn’t quite put my finger on maybe an oak type flavor. All in all a pretty good smoke construction was excellent and the burn needed one touch up. I would call this a good beginner cigar if they want to take the next step up to mid range.
