I just had an interesting idea: What if you bought a replacement lock and key from Amazon, used it to lock your cage, and then sent the key back? You could wait to see if they notice the missing lock upon return or if they simply keep the package—and then buy another replacement lock and key, hoping you get lucky and the key actually fits.
