Gape keeper texture

For quite some time, since the beginning of getting the plug (Gk65), I always thought it was the same texture as every other silicone plug. This was also my first silicone plug that I would consider trustworthy to be safe, hence I did not question the texture too much as the brand name speaks for itself.

I’ve always heard that it should not be too tacky, and chalked it up to the plug being soft, hence seemingly tacky to me. With Canada day sales, I looked through the site again, and now that I am looking closely enough, I realized the texture itself is actually different and not smooth like the rest (of the colors)! I own the black version of the gk65, and the texture is not smooth. It has a bit of a grainy (not the right word perhaps but it’ll do) texture to it, hence the tackiness might be due to the increased friction on the plug’s surface itself. I scrutinized the other colors and they all looked to be of a smooth surface.

It makes me wonder why this is the case with the black color version of the plug, considering the site had not mentioned the difference (or perhaps I’ve missed it), and I am now really curious if the smooth surface feels different compared to the one I own.

25FTM Is this hemorrhoid?

Never had one before. Not too painful but it’s definitely felt when irritated. If it’s one, does it go away on its own? Should I be doing anything in particular than just let it heal?

How long a break until I start “losing progress”?

It had taken some time to work up to keeping larger plugs in for longer hours. If I were to take a break from plugging, days or a week, I don’t really want to lose progress or have to restart again. How long does it typically take before one starts to lose progress, and how easy is it to get back into plugging with previous sizes?

Am I using coconut oil (unrefined) wrong

I recently tried out coconut oil for lube, but I felt that it dried out faster than even water-based lube did. Should I be coating the plug with a thicker layer? Also, any tips for easy cleanup and preventing chafing at the base of the plug?

X lube and Sliquid Silk

Been considering those two as a staple lube to use anally. I prefer water-based or hybrid, and after some research, decided to shortlist these two for safety reasons. However, I can’t find much posts comparing the two. For those who have tried both, which do you prefer?

I really like how economical x lube is, but I can only get it in one go at a high price (have to be shipped across the world), vs getting a 2oz bottle of sliquid silk to try out first. I really wouldn’t mind buying both to try out in small quantities, but the x lube is pricey to buy without knowing if I would commit to it. It’s about 45 bucks for a first time purchase after all even if it’s economical. The sliquid silk is also pretty pricey in the longer run. 15 bucks for just 2oz.

Hoping to get some numbers for how long each of those lubes last before drying out as well. I saw posts about sliquid silk being recommended for being able to last a while but I can’t find any numbers for how long exactly. No idea how long x lube lasts before drying out as well. It is water based so I don’t expect it to last too long but I also could not find much numbers for it.

Itching and tenderness on exterior

I’ve been using the Gk65 for some time now and I could wear it up to 5 hours easily. There are no discomforts within, even after I remove the plug or take a rest day. The main issue is the base causing the exterior to be tender and start itching after some hours and also after the plug is removed. I do not have such issues with the njoy pp, although the base of the njoy is a lot sleeker to begin with.

Lifespan of plugs and when to change them

Was thinking about this for a while, because of course many stated that the njoy plugs were probably going to outlive you, so I have little concern over that. It was pricey but it’ll last.

However, I was wondering how long it would be until I have to change a silicone plug (topped toys gape keeper or egg plugs or other reputable and safe brands). How long can the plug itself actually last? What are signs of degradation that I should flag and get a new one? They are pricey but all for good reason, and I hope they will last a very long time.

Sizing up buttplugs

I keep seeing posts about people recommending others to take it slow and size up, and about training before being able to use a bigger plug, taking months even. And a lot of them seemed to be experienced as well yet took quite some time to size up from a medium to large.

However, for me, I just started out with the smallest jewel plug there is (and it took less than three days for me to feel that it was really small), no training kit involved before sizing up to a medium sized silicone plug. And then I literally went from there to an njoy large and topped toys gape keeper65. Nothing much in between. First try with those 2 plugs and I never felt that they were too large either. Have zero issues with any of them as long as sufficient lube was used and I am relaxed during the insertion.

Furthermore, I can insert them all within at most 2 minutes without pain and barely any stretching to begin with (most of the time was actually used for lubing the toy up rather than stretching). They just kind of slide in smoothly with lube.

Is this relatively normal or am I speed running?

Was thinking of getting a plug of which I could wear all day comfortably. The sizing of these two were quite different and I was not sure whether to get the SPT Large or the Oxballs Ergo Medium. I’m currently looking for one that I will be satisfied with for a long time since both come at a hefty price for me. Considering I will be sizing up with either of the choices, I’m not too sure which is more suitable.

Previous plug I had and was more than comfortable with (for size comparisons)
Widest diameter: 1.6IN/4cm (4.5IN/11.3cm in circumference)
Insertable length: 3.1IN/8cm
Neck dimension: 0.8IN/2cm (2.7IN/6.5cm in circumference)

Another that I had:
Widest diameter: 2.9IN/7.5cm (10.2IN/25.8cm in circumference),
Insertable length: 4IN/10.3cm
Neck dimension: 1.1IN/2.5cm (3.3IN/8.1cm in circumference)

(Honestly I am more comfortable with a plug that has its widest diameter about the middle of the two.)
Edit: On a side note, while the maximum girth did not cause pain, it does cause a sensation of needing to shit. Would appreciate any tips on that as well.

Although the main dilemma I’m having is that while the dimensions for SPT large seems desirable, especially eyeing the diameter across, I worry I would not be able to handle the size of the neck for long periods of time, of which I’ve heard is larger than the Oxballs Ergo. Yet at the same time, I feel that the Oxballs Ergo medium diameter across is not as ideal as SPT large, however it does have a thinner neck and I’m fine with the rest of the dimensions. I’m not sure how each feels inside however, absolutely no idea if it does make a difference or not, and I’m just going based off numbers. Hoping for more insight to make a better decision.

Edit:
Considering between the Gapekeeper and SPT egg now after reading the replies. Which is recommended? Do need sizing advice as well because I’m not sure if it’s easier to size up in diameter or length.
