So, I have a PA and I’ve never bothered to remove the ring, just moved it around in the shower to clean etc.

I went to have sex with a guy a week or so ago who asked me to remove it beforehand because it was his first time. I realised I had a captive ball ring in and no time to deal with it properly so I just used pliers to remove the ring, knowing I wouldn’t be able to reuse that ring later. I didn’t injure myself as I removed the ring.

I ordered a couple of new rings online but in the meantime, I stuck a spare nipple bar through to keep the piercing open while I waited for the new rings to arrive. My urine must have reacted with whatever metal the nipple bar is made of because my glans is now burning every time I pee, even though I took the nipple bar out several days ago and didn’t even put the new ring(s) in because of the irritation.

How long is this irritation going to last? Should I make a Dr appointment? Is there anything you can recommend that will stop the irritation? I drink plenty of fluids (rooibos) every day so my urine isn’t strong.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
