There’s something very intimate to me about small continuity.

Someone remembering I planted a persimmon tree some time ago when the fruit finally ripens. Sending me a photo because “this made me think of you”. Wanting to share the strange little details of their day while they’re happening - not because they have to report in, but because connection naturally spills over that way.

I like people who make things. Music, films, art, businesses, elaborate sandwiches at midnight, terrible jokes, oddly specific playlists, strange obsessions. People with inner worlds.

My ideal evening is probably cooking something beautiful, talking nonsense and serious things in equal measure, listening to music too loudly, showing each other things we’re excited about, and quietly becoming part of each other’s daily life.

I’m not really looking for a performance of compatibility. I think you can tell a lot from what someone notices, what they remember, and the way they choose to speak to people when nobody is telling them who to be.
