[Female][35][NYC] Met a nice guy at H&M while shopping with my family today, he gave me his number. Should I text him or not? (Married NRI mom in US)
Hi everyone,
I am a married woman living in the US with my husband and kids. I also work full time and am a mom. My parents are visiting us right now from India, so today I took them and the kids for some shopping while my husband was busy with an another work.
We went to H&M. I picked up some clothes for the kids and my parents. Then I started trying on a few dresses for myself. As many of you who shop at H&M here know, they have unisex fitting rooms. I came out a couple of times looking for my mom to get her opinion, but she wasn’t around. I felt a bit disappointed.
That’s when this fellow Indian guy who was nearby noticed and came over. He politely suggested that the next size might fit better and recommended a different color for the previous dress. He even went and picked out a couple of options for me. His suggestions were actually really good. He didn’t come across as creepy at all. He seemed decent, well groomed, fit, and nice.
We chatted for a bit. He heard me speaking to my kids and realized we are from the same region in India. He looked to be in his 20s. The conversation felt natural and light. Before leaving, he said he would like to stay connected and gave me his number. He told me to text him only if I felt comfortable.
Now I am not sure what to do. I am married and have a family. This was completely unexpected. He seemed genuinely kind, but I feel confused. Should I text him or not?
