Removing silicone lube from surfaces

So, we all know that silicone lube makes things slippery. Well… I wore latex clubbing, including latex stockings, and the boots (fake leather material) that I wore have been slippery inside ever since and are pretty unwearable. It has been months and they’re still like this. Really frustrating as they are one of my favourite pairs of shoes and I usually wear them regularly. What can I do to make the inside less slippery?

How to glue latex without a respirator

Hi everyone. Does anyone happen to know of a solvent and adhesive for latex that doesn't have a harsh odor? I work with latex a bit, but the degreaser and glue I use have such strong smells that I have to wear a respirator while working. I’ve tried silicone-based adhesives, but they don't provide the same bond strength as solvent-based ones. Is there anything I can use to degrease and glue latex that allows me to work without a respirator while still achieving the strongest possible bond?

Pjur CULT Ultra Shine to shine paws?

So, i recently got my digitigrade Furrjoi paws and I love them. (i will post photos here eventually!)

But I've seen a few people who have them or similar silicone stuff where is it really shiny and want to try this myself.

I searched for silicone shining oil but could not find anything besides Furjjoi's own and I dont really want to pay that much or wait for the shipping from China.

I found this Pjur ultra shine on amazon and see that it is reputable in the latex community and that it also says it is for "rubber" clothes.

Do does anyone know if this would be safe to use on my paws? I don't want to ruin them

Opinions please - is this dress suitable for wearing at a high end restaurant?

I’ve only ever worn latex once in public before and that was just a latex skirt with a “normal” top and it was at a big music concert so I felt like it wasn’t too unusual to wear latex there

Do you think this latex dress would be acceptable to wear in a high end restaurant?

Thanks in advance!

Cleaning drysuits and heavy rubber gear

My tastes are shifting to heavy rubber and I’ve acquired a heavy suit and plan to get waders with attached boots.

I’m realizing that my usual cleaning and shining routine (soaking in buckets) is not practical with these larger items, as they don’t fit.

Is the solution to simply get giant buckets? Does anyone have other tips for cleaning and shining drysuits, boots, waders, and other heavy gear? Thanks!

material for cage under latex?

I read that there are materials of cages which damage the latex when it gets in contact together.

So which materials do you recommend for cages, which are worn under (in my case) a latex catsuit?

How to make latex clothes?

I would like to start making my own latex clothes, something easy like tanktop, t shirt and a boxer, once I get used to, I will start with a suite, applying zip and more complex stuff.

I found a book called “How to make latex clothes”, seems like it’s for female models only 😅 I’m looking for something similar for menswear (I’m only interested in menswear).

Is there a reference book to follow? Or maybe some specific tutorials on youtube?

sounds strange but, how can I begin to like the smell of latex?

Hey there!

So I am still pretty new to latex, I have gloves, socks and a mask. And I am very unsure what I should do....

So I absolutely love the feeling of latex on my skin, the look (especially when shined up), so cool... but I dont really like the smell of it. And so I was thinking of, what can I do, to begin loving the smell also - or even like it.

In theory I thought, would it be possible to take regularly a breathing mask (for example one similar to the msa millenium, which I want to buy anyway) a tube and a smell bottle, put some latex in there and breath that latex smell for maybe one hour. So maybe I can get used to the smell of latex over some time? Just a little bit?

What are youre thoughts about it? I really dont want to go without latex because the feeling and everything is just... wow... but not the smell :/

greetings :)

Cannabalise a swim cap in a pinch?

Hi. I have a cheapy latex hood that had no eyes so I cut ones – fairly neatly – but I'd like to reinforce the 'perimeter' of the cut to mitigate any tearing. I have no donor latex and not easy to get where I am so was thinking in a pinch can i use a latex swim cap and cut what I need from it?
Also i've chlorinated my hood, would I need to do the same to the swim cap before adhering or if cleaned effectively should they bond sufficiently? I think i can get some Sys Vulc glue locally.
Any advice appreciated.

Latex Manufacturer for smaller components like BlackStyle

Hello,

I am based in europe and I am looking for some minor latex acessoirs.

Previously I was buying at BlackStyle based in germany. I had normal gloves and socks with 0,35mm thickness and some glued latex mask. However they have some longer waiting time for some of their products. They were fitting me really well.

Since they seem to buy/manufacure them somewhere else it seems, do you know maybe another reseller which has something similar in stock?

Kind regards,
Blubb

Will a bad smell bind to latex?

I recently made the dumb decision of moving into a new apartment without touring first, and there is a lingering cigarette smell from a previous tenant (or perhaps neighbor?). While I track down the smell and try to eliminate it, I am a little worried about my rubber.

Specifically, I am worried about my latex absorbing the smell when it is exposed to the air during use. I normally keep all my rubber is air-tight ziploc bags when not in use, so I'm not afraid of it getting a smell while in storage. I have only worn a couple of my pieces so far and have not noticed a smell, but I think I'm starting to become nose blind to the cigarette smell. Will latex absorb the smell while I wear it, or while it is hanging up in my bathroom drying?

Does anyone have experience with this? Will my rubber smell like smoke? While the smell fade away after washing? I'm scared of ruining my collection forever with a smokey smell.

Also does anyone have tricks for combating cigarette smell? I don't smoke, but all my clothes smell like I do 😭

How do you store garments that are showing signs of deterioration or fusion?

My chlorinated catsuit has signs of fusion. I had to peel the legs apart and those areas are no longer smooth. The whole suit is shined and the damage is only noticeable when touched. It’s been hanging in my shower, cleaned and shined since Friday.

For storing, I’m considering two options:

  1. Hang it in a long cotton garment bag. Idk if this will cause a bad reaction or just leave the suit with some lint (not a big deal for me). Pro - I might wear it more often. Con - the closet is a more active space, perhaps less safe than being bagged and boxed.

  2. My other thought was to layer it in tissue paper so nothing makes contact and then bag it like usual. Pros/cons - inverse of option 1, plus possibility of further fusion.

LAST

I want to address this idea that latex can’t be stored touching itself. This doesn’t make sense to me. I shine my suits in a shiner bath, inside and out. The insides of the garment are always touching when bagged — this is likely the case with 99.9% of the latex clothes on Earth.

Latex clothing does not fit nice

My partner does not find that her first set of latex clothing fits her nice. She believes that her breasts are too big, and get squished. It also makes her believe she does not have the body for latex. Did we just buy the wrong size, or wrong piece of clothing? Or is there something else we did wrong?
Thanks in advance!

0.4mm question

What are the chances of a 0.4mm sheet ripping at the raw edge

I want to reinforce the raw edge but both hems and trims are just a pain in the ass, I have never done trims before. Should I just reinforce the seams ?
