Getting my first shot today. Any suggestions?
Howdy everyone. Been on 16mg of Subs a day for a couple of years. Any suggestions for me as I move over to the shot and eventually quitting?
Howdy everyone. Been on 16mg of Subs a day for a couple of years. Any suggestions for me as I move over to the shot and eventually quitting?
Got my final shot July 6th. Did 300-300-100mg. My dose prior to starting sublocade was 6mg for a few months and prior to that was at 4mg for a year and on 8mg a year before that. Was on suboxone about 2 ½ years total.
I am feeling pretty okay, no huge withdrawal symptoms except on some days I am so exhausted, even if consume extreme amounts of caffeine, like 800mg in a day, I still am just so tired. It seems to come in waves and some days Im fine.
Anyone else go through this?
Ive always had a faster metabolism (5'8½, 140lbs) and I wonder if the sublocade is working its way out of my system a little quicker than the expected 6-8 months.
Im still committed to not turning back, I really want to be 100% off of any kind of medication and I would still choose this over cold turkey any day but just wondering if anyone went through something similar and when it started getting better for them?
Thanks
Hi, does anyone know any good doctors that prescribe sublocade in or around the Orange County CA area? I have Blue Cross insurance. Currently on day 6 of suboxone withdrawals and I’m hurting. Have been on 8-10mg subs for 4 years and decided to quit cold turkey last week. Funny thing is I didn’t know sublocade was a thing until yesterday. Any advice is welcome. Thanks
I just received my second shot of 300 mg and for contacts I was on Suboxone strips 8/2 for 8 years and for that I was on the methadone clinic 100 mg for about 8 years.
So combine 16 years on methadone or Suboxone before sublocade.
Everything feels great I feel good, I'm getting better sleep and overall I just feel good and normal.
My question is when I first get the shot it seems to really knock me out for the first couple days and if I smoke weed on top of it it is like an instant knockout, has anyone else noticed this that also smokes weed?
My other question would be I have my second shot and the knot is in my left side of my stomach my first shot is in the right side of my stomach and that knot is still there.
How long does it take for the knots to go away?
How often should you rotate the shots?
Are we in any danger of really messing up our stomachs and making it look all weird looking by all of these shots?
Also how much damage can these bumps take?
For instance let's say you and your wife both have them and you're really going at it in the bedroom, how much pounding can these bumps take no pun intended. Lol
Edit - my wife is also on her first dose and her hormones and emotions have really been all over the place it's only been one week since she's got her first shot. Is that normal?
im on .5 suboxone will 100mg be too much will I be over medicated?
i know they are not real withdrawals, but every day i feel like if i just took a bite i would feel so much better, i would wake up and stop
sweating!
My question is how long until i feel normal? i’m at 6 months post 100 shot. i had a very faint line on negative today. i did a 100 shot every 90 days for a year. The year before i went thru the normal dose but relapsed when i was in pain.
im old and i was on subs for over 20 years so possibly that is the problem.
Any advice? i exercise every day, take all
the vitamins, just got Trazedone
to hopefully sleep. Even tried weed 😟
I just wanted to document and hopefully help anyone who is curious. I was on suboxone for about five years after an addiction to pain killers. The last two years I was only on about .5 of the film. Like many others I tried for a long time to find a provider who administered the shot. With a lot of time and effort I finally found a doctor an hour away who specializes in subblocade. My insurance initially denied the shot but they handled and fought all of it for me. It took a few weeks max and they were able to get it all taken care of. I didn‘t have to pay anything.
I was very nervous for many reasons but especially because my doctor only starts with the loading dose of the 300mg shot. I was fearful this would be too powerful for me. They explained they have many patients in the same boat, only taking a small amount of subs and that the first shot should be 300mg no matter what.
24 hours ago I finally got the shot. It was definitely painful but nothing as bad as I thought. I didn’t numb or even ice before (just after). The pain only lasted about five minutes during/after. Not going to lie though, when I first felt it kick in I got a bit of nausea and felt a head rush. It quickly subsided and I do think a lot of it was my anxiety. After sitting in the office and icing for about 15 mins I was free to go. I felt great. It’s been 24 hours and while I do feel like I am on a heavy but clean dose of subs almost, I am having no side effects. I feel great. No nausea either. My deposit lump is actually smaller than I imagined. I am a 5’11 male and weigh 145lbs. I’m not bruised either. Minimal discomfort/soreness is all.
I am feeling super hopeful and positive. I will try and update everyone on how I feel as the weeks go by and if I get a second shot etc. I hope I encourage anyone who is considering this to do it and trust the process.
Next week will be 6 months since I got a single 100mg shot. Sleep has been getting progressively worse for the last month or two, I’m probably getting 2-4hrs a night right now even with helper meds.
Basically, I’m tired all day but wired all night. It feels like an endless cycle. Does it get better?!
I'm 6 months out from 2x300mg. I basically experienced a somewhat compressed version of the typical WD offramp where symptoms were more severe than they needed to be but shorter in duration. I personally would not recommend it to anyone else, shorter was still like 3-5 weeks per phase and double the intensity. There was a month where I barely moved each day because I was the guy in KIDS singing "I have no legs".
I've just come through the sleep deprivation stage which, for me, was like 3 weeks of 2-5 hours of nightmare madness sleep per night. I was seeing ghosts at the end of it and I'm glad that's over. Any symptoms I felt for the week or so afterwards I sort of blamed on that phase, as I caught up on sleep
But now, I'm experiencing daily'ish headaches. This is not normal for me (normal me or subox/sublo me). Normally if I have a headache I take advil or tylenol and it is gone in 30 minutes. This is not that. Nothing is helping and I'm finding these headaches are kind of a bitch to deal with. They feel like my brain hurts - it's hard to describe - and it's worse than a normal headache.
I don't have problems with Kratom and I've tried taking a ½-1 gram of powder to combat and nothing. 3 advils, nothing. 7 clears it but that's not something I am open to being a solution; I only take that when there's some sort of social situation I can't skip and I'm having a bad (ie WD) day.
I meditate a couple times a week, eat healthy, exercise, drink lots of water, hikes, yada yada. Anyone have any ideas or experience with these?
How do you all take the pain of the shot? Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less? I am really close to passing out before I even get the shot! Tried Brixadi-it was like a bee sting but didn’t hold the full 30 days. I’m thinking of going back to Sublocade but not sure I can handle it.
Where do you get your shot? My doctor recently told me you can get it in the back of the arm as well. Was thinking of doing that. Has anyone done it there? I’m sick of getting it in my stomach. Plus there’s shots I got months ago I can’t feel the depot but know they’re still there and don’t wanna accidentally inject right on top of that.
So I’ve been trying to figure this out for the last 4 years, I’ve tried Viagra cialis you name it. My primary care doctor said your bloodwork came back perfect so we can try something off label, called Wellbutrin. I was like wtf an antidepressant. This will make you feel amazing, I still take cialis here and there too just 5mg but my problem was I couldn’t cum and it fucking sucked. I’m also prescribed Xanax which I take daily so that made things worse sexually… until I started Wellbutrin. If this is something that is effecting you from being able to live your life don’t knock it before you try it. Man or woman, and I’m only 23 so I was like absolutely not I’m in my prime there’s no reason I should have these issues but the sublocade and buprenorphine is impossible to get off of personally. I just wanted to share that because it really has worked wonders for me.
I wish you all well!!
I’m on my second shot of 300mg. It definitely feels more active than the first. The first felt heavy at times, but my cravings were still there. I used a few times while on the first shot because of cravings. I tried supplementing with sub films that didn’t work.
After I got my second shot I could tell I was more stable, but my cravings are still there. I want to get past the using. I keep reading people have zero cravings. Should I still be supplementing sub films for a week or two to get past the relapses. I think that’s where the cravings are. I’m also having a hard time just being sober. I go to meetings. I quit drinking alcohol two years ago. That was so hard to quit. This has been far worse. I have no complaints with the shot other than my cravings.
Financially I can’t keep using. If I come up dirty on my test next month I won’t get treatment. My girlfriend of three years is going to leave if I don’t stop. And once I start I can’t stop. Even though the effects are practically not there. It still does something to the brain that eases the anxiety.
I’ve gotten some days of clean time together and it seems to subside with a few days.
My main question is would I hurt my treatment by adding more sub suboxone to kill the cravings or hurt my treatment.
I really just need a week or two away to break the habit.
Hello I just received my 36th injection of sublocade and I dont know where the time went. I was gonna get a few shots and stop, but the drug worked miracles for me. I've totally gotten my life back plus some and I feel great. That being said I need to buckle down and do this and I wanted to know if anyone out there has gotten a similar amount of injections and how their withdrawal symptoms were. I don't expect it to be easy but Im 42 and have 3 little kids, a full time job, and a side business. I wanna know I'm gonna be able to push through this and what I'm looking at. I've heard people say more injections is better because it leaves your body slower and I've also heard the opposite. I also have been spacing my injections out, 100mg every 6 weeks. By the time I get the injection I feel buzzed the entire day which never happened until I started spacing them out. Anyways Thank you for your reading and sharing your experience.
For those who have successfully gotten off of sublicade and has said they felt zero withdrawals is that including PAWS as well. Like did you feel any depression or suicidal ideation when coming off of the Sublicade even though you felt no physical withdrawals. For me personally the physical withdrawals are a piece of cake compared to the mental.
I’ve been on suboxone for 8 years and go to meetings regularly. I’ve heard a lot of good things about about using sublocade to help get off the buprenorphine. My frigging insurance company through my job that we pay almost 4k month for family doesn’t approve “ specialty drugs”. I’m pissed and really disappointed.
I got it yesterday afternoon and it is currently Friday morning. I can’t sleep and feel kinda jacked up which is creeping me out. I was on Zubsolv twice a day at 5.7mg.
What do i expect? Will I have symptoms? Also the dr wants me to get another shot in a month that is 300 again. I’m not so sure about that as I’m wanting off.
For context I had an addiction to a substance called 7oh. It’s a chemical derived from Kratom that is super strong and is basically like morphine. And it’s over the counter so it was really easy to slip into.
I’ve read that 100 mg is equivalent to 8 mg a day of suboxone. I can hardly stay awake if I take more than 4mg. How long can the over medicated period last and will it be noticeable to others I’m around. One doctor told me that it should be a smooth transition and another told me that I should go up on my daily dose first. I just want this to be done with.
I just got my 100 injection today. I've been on it for 5 years. Practically 50 injections. Had every complication you can imagine. Today I got my first shallow shot. It's really bad ( similiar to photos on Google when I looked up shallow shot ) right under the skin with what looks like a blood blister where needle went in. It bled alot. I'm very thin. The person who did it literally said " oh no " two times while doing it. Usually I go laying down and she has to grip my " fat" really hard to get in. When I do it sitting there is more meat there but when I stand I get crazy pains. Also been having an issue of injection bumping into other depots. Typically the needle goes in at an angle so if your guy will be the tiny spot and then an inch away the deepo will form. Sometimes they won't check and will push in and we both can feel that the needle has hit another depo put it's too late and it will just cause me two or three mini depos. My stomach is destroyed. Anyways today I went a bit higher to avoid that and the guy didn't go at an angle. ( Also I've never seen him before at the place I've been going over 6 years and he was at least 75 ( I did the math with the few things he told me about himself) The depo is directly at the injection site. I'm surprised it didn't all leak out because that's happened before. I feel like I have the flu but that's nothing new. I have clonidine. I don't want to mask symptoms of what could be a serious complication. I have a spage the size of a baseball lifted up. It's not dramatically swollen like I've had before lmao when then accidently injected me with sulpha drugs ( I'm allergic and that's in lidocaine) and it swelled up so insane and it made stretch marks. ( Photo enclosed ) Any one experience this??
I'd been going to telehealth for 26 months and was stable on 4mg/day subs. I was prescribed 8mg but only took 4 so l've got quite the healthy stash. Anyway, I've been trying to get off it for over a year and have failed with trying to taper, even trying 3.5.
I've been looking at Sublocade for a very long time for this. Reading so many success stories.
I need to be off because of the side effects. I'm emotionally and intellectually blunted and have really bad memory recall and no energy or motivation.
I accidentally got into Tianeptine which lead to Subs. I have zero concerns of returning and used subs as an emergency move.
I had finally done research and found a somewhat local Dr who does Sublocade & Brixadi. My intake was a good hour where she talked a lot about Sublocade.. but she ended up recommending Brixadi. Mainly because there are more dosing options (flexibility) and it's less painful (no crystallization etc too).
So we ordered it and set an appointment for 2 weeks.
Two days ago I went in for my first shot. Holy crap have I been nodding off and out of my mind for the past 48 hours. Way too strong for my dose. My Dr knows my intent is to stop, and said likely my third dose we'll go down to 64. But now I'm worried.. did my entire journey just get messed up being thrown into a much larger dose?
And am I going to stabilize anytime soon so I can actually work?
My wife is freaking out too seeing my reaction.. way over medicated..
Anyone have advice or experience switching to a monthly shot from a 4mg (or low) Suboxone dose??
I'm pretty worried that this is all backfiring on me and I'm getting even further into it instead.
My hope was that 96 Brixadi went good so I could go over to Sublocade easy and just stop.. I feel like I messed that up!
I'd appreciate any feedback. Or if there's a better place I should post this
