Bespoke Cage Review - CBNS and BAWR

My wife's property has officially been secured into its primary “residence“. We received “her” Ti cage from BAWR and I have been locked in it long enough to know that it's everything that we had hoped it would be. Beautifully crafted by BAWR from the model created by as part of his CBNS Bespoke Cage Design Service (see my review of collaborating with CBNS on the design here). The combined talents of BAWR and CBNS have proven to be the perfect match in creating a cage that is sleek, very comfortable and with the tetherspout support extremely secure. I know I'm biased but in my opinion it's a damn fine looking cage and I'm proud to wear it. We've named it Freyrsvarðlás in a nod to my Nordic ancestors which means, “Freyr's Guarded Lock”. Freyr is the Norse Fertility God. Photos of Freyrsvarðlás.

The primary differences between the “final test cage” and Freyrsvarðlás is color, material and the junction (Comparison photo). The “final test cage” is black, made from nylon and has a barrel lock junction while Freyrsvarðlás is anodized blue (28V), made from Ti and has a security screw junction. The security screw junction is based on a design that newbie-sub created and used on some of his personal cages. It makes the cage easy to install without pinching while also providing a sleek, low profile. The surface finish is outstanding...luxuriously smooth. Which I'm sure you'll agree is most definitely an advantage considering what will be locked inside. The design of the tetherspout mount protects the end of the tetherspout from catching on your clothing while allowing it to freely rotate to stay aligned with your body to maintain comfort. Each side of the mount is threaded to allow two short security screws to lock the tetherspout in place making removal of the cage exceptionally difficult without risking injury to the Keyholder's property. Using two short screws keeps the inside diameter of the tetherspout open resulting in less disruption of the urine stream. For those of you sensitive to weight I believe that you would be happy with a Ti cage. It is heavier than the nylon cage but still very light especially if compared to the weight of a steel cage made from the same design.

Hopefully it's clear that I'm very, very happy with the results of the collaboration with CBNS and BAWR. As I've mentioned BAWR's craftsmanship is excellent but I believe the true key to the success of this cage is the design provided by CBNS. CBNS was able to bring to life the cage I had envisioned and I am very grateful for his efforts. If a custom cage is in your future consider taking the next step by getting a bespoke cage that fits you exactly and provides the comfort and esthetics you're looking for to support your chastity lifestyle. CBNS and BAWR will not disappoint!

I'm going to begin this review by stating what you want to know right away. Was it worth it? Absolutely! My experience with CBNS (Chastity By Newbie-Sub) has been nothing short of exceptional, and I can say without reservation that it exceeded my expectations at every stage.

Our quest for a custom chastity cage began several months after joining the chastity community. At that time my wife and I decided it was time to invest in a custom cage to provide the comfort needed to better support full-time wear. I had already explored various options offered by several custom makers and had almost placed an order with BAWR when the opportunity presented itself to participate as a beta test client for a bespoke design created by CBNS. The chance to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind design was just too good to pass up so I quickly submitted my idea to CBNS.

From the very beginning, Newbie-sub demonstrated an impressive ability to translate my ideas into reality. Within a short time, he produced initial renders that closely matched what I had envisioned, even though my own concept was still somewhat unrefined. That level of intuition and skill immediately set the tone for the entire collaboration. Throughout the design process his communication was consistent, clear, and highly collaborative. Newbie-sub provided detailed updates, visuals, and thoughtful explanations, making it easy to give meaningful feedback. He welcomed questions no matter how basic and treated every concern seriously. That openness made the entire process feel like a true partnership rather than a simple transaction.

The test wear period proved particularly valuable. Utilizing physical prototypes both for basic fit and design evaluation made a huge difference. It’s one thing to review images, but actually handling and wearing a test cage revealed nuances that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. (See the test cages here.) Taking his advice, I opted for a nylon test version that would support extended wear which proved essential in revealing several issues. Over a week of real-world use, I was able to identify three key aspects needing refinement that included the base ring inside diameter, tube inside diameter, and the tube to base ring angle. These refinements improved comfort and appearance. The initial white nylon test cage and the final black nylon test configuration can be seen here.

Another highlight was Newbie-sub’s creativity and problem-solving. Some of the design elements I requested proved to be complex, but he approached each challenge with enthusiasm and persistence. His personal experience as a chastity wearer and design insights learned while designing his own cages proved invaluable, leading to improvements in comfort, usability, and aesthetics that I wouldn’t have included without his guidance. By the end, the design truly felt like a shared creation.

The final nylon print (black) has proven to be comfortable, durable, and works perfectly as my daily cage while I wait for the final BAWR version which can be seen here. Additionally, it has reinforced just how successful the design process was.

A few thoughts for anyone considering the purchase of a custom cage:

  • If plan to make chastity an important part of your life…get one! In fact, seriously consider getting a bespoke design. Getting the model created through CBNS significantly reduces the final cost of a bespoke design. Nothing like having a one-of-a-kind cage that is aesthetically pleasing, perfectly fits your Keyholder’s property and provides the comfort needed for them to keep you locked as long as they desire without worry of “property damage”.
  • The fit of your design will only be as good as the measurement data you provide. Newbie-sub is pretty amazing but he can't foresee all problems created by poor data provided by a client. Carefully follow his guidance when taking your measurements. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you are unsure. He was willing and able to answer any question, yes, even the ignorant ones so don't hold back. If you have a question…ASK! If you have a concern…STATE IT! The development phase is the time to bring up questions and concerns. Don't wait until the design is almost finished to make them known.
  • I highly suggest that you take Newbie-sub's advice and purchase a nylon test cage that will allow you to do an extended wear test. As previously noted several issues were revealed during my test wear period that wouldn't have been found otherwise.
  • The process takes time to get it right so be prepared to wait. Don't rush your measurements or test wear period. Newbie-sub was very quick on his end but it takes time to get test cages printed and shipped. The final product purchased thru BAWR will take weeks to receive.

CBNS delivers a rare combination of technical skill, creativity, and genuine collaboration. If you’re considering a bespoke design, I can’t recommend his service highly enough.
