After a year of research and reading reviews I knew I wanted a Kink3D cage. It was an investment. I measured everything I could to Kink3Ds recommendations taking measurements for days. I then searched out a cage, a cheap cage that hit all my specs and bought it to figure out my ring size. The cheap $50 cage fit damn near perfect. I emailed Kink3D fitting department and emailed them back and forth for a week. They recommended a Cobra N Wide and a #2 ring and that was pretty much exactly the specifications of my cheap cage I had been wearing. So instead of ordering on line from their website I decided to trek out a two hour drive to Fort Lauderdale to their retail partner Mr. Leatherworks to get fitted and buy what I needed and know I went home with what fit. They were a great store to deal with and showed knowledge. I test fitted the N but I knew I wanted a cage 10-15mm shorter than what I measured at so I had some compression in the cage so I told the guys helping me that I wanted to try a Baby Cobra and buy that too. The Cobra N Wide was exactly my flaccid length so once in a while maybe once a week I would turtle back in it which I did not have a problem with in the baby cobra. The other thing was they recommended the #2 flat ring but I did try on a #1 flat and liked the fit but he told me the scrotum pinch (Ball Gab as we know it) was too tight and stay with the #2 so I did. Fast forward a couple months and I’m discovering discomfort and I was recommended to try a #2 XD ring. Same problem. So I ordered a #2 curved ring and most my problem goes away. Ball Gap….the scrotal pinch was the discomfort. But with the curved #2 ring I’m maxed out at a 14mm ball gap with no other options. So I take my trusty heat gun and heat this bad boy up and curve it over my jig to a 18mm ball gap, 4mm gain from factory ring. All discomfort is gone except for a tiny bit while sleeping. Over the following two weeks for the first time, I slip a testicle through the ring now that the ring feels a bit too big. So I trade a guy on the Kink3D Exchange, my #2 ring for a #1XD. I really didn’t want the tighter gap of the XD but I was heating it and I curved it to a 22mm ball gap. 8mm more gap over a factory curved ring….this thing was now super comfortable all day and night. The ring fits better than the #2 and even the #1 feels loose at times and I’m about ready to order a “On Demand” #0.5 standard flat ring to curve to my 22mm gap and I thing the fit will be unbeatable. Kink3D has an issue they won’t confess to and that is this… If you try to mate up a N series or smaller cage with a #3 or smaller ring, the built in ball gap is way too tight for a lot of guys, especially High and Tight scrotum guys like me. With a curved ring in any of those combos, they max about at 15mm ball gap and for some, scrotum pinch on high and tight guys is bad till you get to 18mm+ gap. Even with my 22mm ball gap I can’t pull out of my cage at all. The fit is extraordinary and now nothing like any cage I have worn in 20 years playing. Kink3D needs to offer rings #3 and smaller in a curve that is also +4 or 6 mm more curve over the curved ring they currently have. It wouldn’t be needed in #4 and larger rings at all. Love my Baby Cobra but it was very uncomfortable in the max build they offer.

I wanted to be the first to post a review of a STL file for a 3D printable cage that I printed. Whenever I find a nicely designed cage I usually print a basic trial run to test fit it then I’ll make some modifications if it’s really close to a well fitted cage.

So this one I found on Cults3D site from a designer named PrintedBonds and it is called his Open Framed Screw Locked Cage. He also offers it in a conventional style with a barrel lock. This cage is closely styled like a Cherry Keeper but still slightly different. I wanted to find a cage that I could send out and get printed in titanium so that’s where I’m going with this one.

My final print which is shown in the photos was finalized in PETG-CF Carbon Fiber reinforced filament printed on my Bambu A1 with ceramic heating element and hardened .4mm hotend. I had first tested this in solid infill PLA and worked very well and I wore that for a couple months. Right after printing I inserted the melt in M3 threaded brass fasteners into the ring. I then completely sanded it in 400 grit sandpaper in and out. It got 2 very light coats of 3DXTC epoxy coating on it and allowed to cure for 48 hours then I did two coats of Pro grade Ceramic coating on it 24 hours apart. I’ve now been wearing it for a few weeks 12-16 hours a day with no issues and a perfect fit. I used black oxide coated stainless M3 x 6mm TORX security screws to bolt it together.

As for the final fit, the cage is available in five cage sizes and thirteen different-sized rings, in flat and ergonomic (curved for bigger ball gap) Cages are 30-50 mm in length (including ring) and 35 mm in diameter. The diameter of the rings is between 36-60mm. I opted for the 3rd size up from the smallest and it measures in at 40mm from back of ring to inside tip of cage. Just a size smaller than the one that is the same as my Baby Cobra wide. I opted for the 42mm ergo ring but I heated and curved it to give me a 24mm Ball Gap. I also worked with the designer to add a headlock ring into it similar to the Cherry Keeper cage. The cage is 35mm wide on the inside with a 27mm headlock. This smaller cage fits as well and as comfortable as my baby cobra except for the fact it has no lock mechanism sticking up out the top, so it is very low profile and stealth. This, in my book, makes it more comfortable than my Kink3D cage. My next venture is to send this STL file out to IN3DTEC to get it printed in Titanium and polished for my first metal cage. Stainless is too heavy for me to wear as active as I am, so with this very low profile small design printed in titanium, I think I’ll have a winner.

Sources these to start using on some prints. Pretty nice quality black coated stainless steel TORX screws in M3 size.

Well here is my final test piece before I send this file out to be 3D Printed in Titanium for my first metal cage. I coated it in 2 thin coats of 3DXTC epoxy. I don’t like the weight of steel so I dialed in a design working with the designer to get a perfect fit.
I’ll be wearing this for close to a month and then if no other changes needed I’ll send it out. I added a headlock ring in this latest update and so far really like the fit. The Ball Gap is set at a whopping 23mm for exceptional comfort. I have security screws coming for it, I currently have some purple Titanium screws in it.

3D printed this cage in PETG-CF and coated it in 3DXTC Epoxy Sealant. It’s my 3rd and final print after a few minor fitment changes after wearing it for a few months. I’ll wear this one for a few weeks then I’m sending the files out to have them 3D printed in Titanium and polished. I was amazed at how well the second coat made the carbon fiber look and like a production carbon manufactured part. I’ll post a few more pics tomorrow after it’s completely cured out and assembled

So I heated/curved this #1 XD flat ring into an extreme curve to give me a 24mm ball gap on my Cobra N Wide. But the last two days I've been wearing this ring with my Baby Cobra Wide and it gives me a 23mm ball gap. The XD ring was still a tiny bit discomforting with the set 20mm gap on my Cobra N and at 19mm on my Baby Wide. Now it's super comfy, still a nice hug, and it stays put right where it is supposed to stay. It's crazy that this big of a ball gap works but it's mainly because I have high and tight balls and when they are tight, even the 20mm gap I can feel a slight discomfort but nothing to fret over. Actually I didn't notice it till I put this ring on and it was all gone.

When I bought my Kink3D cage from the retail partner store a year ago I ended up buying the recommended Cobra N Wide that Kink3D recommended based off my measurements and my previous cage and then I knew I wanted something 10 to 15 mm shorter so I also bought a Baby Cobra Wide. I’ve been wearing the baby cobra now for about a year 95% of the time with a custom standard curved ring set at 20 mm ball gap. The Cobra N I would turtle in it about once a month because it was slightly a bit too long. Yesterday I decided I was going to order a half size small smaller ring and go from my #1 to a #0.5 ring. So I thought heck let’s pull out the Cobra N and take the #1 XD curved that I had set at 20mm ball gap as well and heat and bend it as far as I could that the thick XD ring would allow. I ended up with a 24mm ball gap.

OK…I put this thing on and instantly I noticed it felt completely different from my Baby cobra, but the way I had them both set up I couldn’t tell the difference between the two of them previously. Now my wife likes me to go to bed without the cage John but last night she was already in bed and I decided to go ahead and wear it to bed and see how it felt. First thing I noticed is that I am a stomach sleeper so I’m faced down and half the time that some of my problem but this cage now felt completely different even in bed. I slept all night and woke up at my usual 6:15-6:30 and was good and chubbed up but comfy and I just got up and went in and took a squirt and my chub instantly went away and I jumped in the shower.

Now, I felt nothing and I mean nothing could beat the fitment of my Baby Cobra with the 20mm ball gap but this thing is another level yet again. I mean this ring is curved to beat hell. Imagine a tiny #1 ring with close to a 1 inch ball gap!

Can’t wait to try this ring on my Baby Cobra now!

Please read the link below…..Every day there are numerous posts about burning, chafing, abdominal discomfort and other fitment issues. There are a few of us on here including newbie-sub that try to help all these issues with cheap $20 cage fitment problems. 9.5 out of 10 times it is a issue with the ball gap being to tight and pinching the scrotum between the cage and base of ring. Everyone seems to go the backwards route and try to fix it with a bigger ring when that just makes matters worse and causes more problems. After you fix your ball gap problem you’ll more than likely notice that now your ring is way too big and need to down size. Try wearing the ring alone and you'll see that the burning stops.
