Looking to purchase a BC Desensitizing Sleeve as an introduction to high quality, low girth sleeves. However, I wanted to confirm my understanding of the wall thickness math.

If the BC website says that the sleeve's wall thickness will be 0.1875", does that effectively add 1.2"ish to the total girth when worn?

I got a new sleeve last week that seems to have some sort of residue that keeps coming back and I'm not sure what to do. It's a thin film, somewhere between oily and slippery, I guess.

I've been washing it with a gentle soap and coating it in 100% cornstarch, but even after 3-4 cycles of this, this film keeps coming back. I briefly had it on my bedside table and it left a stain in the wood that I can't seem to get out.

I've got a bunch of other BC sleeves and I don't think I've seen this before. The sleeve seems fine otherwise, but we're hesitant to use it...

Has anybody else experienced this, or maybe have some suggestions on how to get rid of it?
