Would you meet a client who refuses full ID but agrees to FaceTime + public drink?
Hi girls, I wanted to ask how strict you are with screening, especially those of you based in Europe / Paris.
I’m based in Europe (Paris) speaking with a potential client from the neatherlqnds and I’m a bit torn. He has been very respectful in every message, not pushy at all, and we also had around a 10-minute FaceTime call. He was very good-looking, calm, well-spoken, and seemed completely normal. He Said he have a pretty high position in finance working in New York, Overall, he gave a good impression.
The only issue is that he says he is very paranoid about his identity and does not feel comfortable revealing his full real name or sending full ID before meeting. He said he understands my concern and would be willing to meet me for a one-hour drink in public first, (he is staying at a nice 5 star hotel here) so I can feel more comfortable, but he still does not want to share his full name.
For for my EUROPE girls who screen clients : would this be enough for you, or would you still require full ID / LinkedIn / hotel details before meeting? Do you ever make exceptions when someone seems respectful and agrees to a public drink first?
I’m trying to find the balance between being safe and not scaring away genuine discreet clients, but I also don’t want to ignore my own boundaries.
Curious how others would handle this. 🤍
