As many of you know, I was able to secure a 40+ minute phone call with a Congressman who has publicly supported 7-OH and spoken out against the unfair demonization of the substance. With his guidance, along with hours of independent research, I spent over 6 hours putting together an OFFICIAL priority legislative contact list excluding the Congressman who has already committed to advocating on our behalf.
WE HAVE 24 HOURS. ‼️
Every single one of us needs to call as many legislators as possible—and encourage our family, friends, coworkers, employees, neighbors, and anyone else willing to help to do the same.
This is NOT a random list. There are nearly 500 members of Congress, and these are the legislators who are more likely to hear our concerns based on their past support for kratom, harm reduction, sensible regulation over prohibition, individual liberty, or science-based policymaking.
In 2016, the kratom community secured 51 legislators to oppose the federal ban. There is no reason we can’t achieve the same if everyone does their part.
Use the call script, speak with the staff member if someone answers, or leave a 30-second voicemail and move on to the next office. It’s that simple. Most of us can get through 15–20 offices in 30 minutes or less—less time than many of us spend scrolling Reddit or vendor chats. This is our last opportunity to make our voices heard where they matter most.
Let’s respectfully flood these offices with calls over the next 24 hours or until an announcement is made. Be polite, be professional, and let them know why preserving access to safer, regulated alternatives matters.
I’ve been told we still have a real opportunity here, and every legislator we bring to our side improves our chances.

I know times are scary right now and I don’t want to tell people what they should or shouldn’t do but I feel like this needs to be said.
Should Aug 5th bring bad news (I pray it will not) The fight is NOT OVER. 7Hope and Hart will almost certainly continue to fight for us and we should do whatever we can to support them. And boycott vendors that don’t in any fashion.
There will be people who through different circumstances will end up in withdrawals. A small few who prior to 7 had never taken opiates. I beg you PLEASE **do not go to a mat** as your first choice. The country will be watching the statistics to prove their false narrative about 7oh. A ruling on the 5th will not be the end of the story. The truth will come out about the corruption and money that led to the ruling. Kennedy and Mullins are going to have to answer for this either way and it will receive media coverage. It’s not secret the AKA and GKC will continue their death march and try to axe small vendors that can’t or won’t comply to their costly and shady certifications. This will be their next move mark my word.
I don’t want to sound heartless and say don’t receive treatment, that is ultimately your decision. But their are many of us here willing to help and guide you through this. But if mat numbers spike after a bad ruling then there will be little hope for Kratom’s alkaloids in the future.
I want you all to know that tapers can be done alone. 7 is a VERY forgiving chemical. The same cannot be said of the alternative. Wd is fairly short lived and the mind is powerful. It hasn’t been said enough: **MIT extract is more than enough for withdrawals and cravings!** There are options that don’t include putting money in the hand of the people that made this ban a thing. If you really need mat than of course go. But it should not be your first choice. Medical tapering will take make something that should have lasted days and stretch that out to possibly months!!!

As much as I hate bipartisan politics, this could work in our favor. If the rep has spoken out about Trump before, you can mention the inherent corruption and paper trail of Republican Party donations/investments/ties to RFK & Republican Party. Offer to email them the supporting documents!
This is not random reps, each rep was selected by carefully viewing public voting records, donations to harm reduction campaigns (passing out alcohol pads, clean needles etc), and those who have spoken up against Trump and the Republican agendas.

In 2016 when the Kratom ban was overturned, 51 state representatives called in to stop the ban. We have almost 500 representatives across America, there’s no reason 7 has ZERO. The comments close tonight, but the work is not done. EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL THEIR REPS AND ASK THEM TO CALL BEFORE AUGUST 5TH ‼️
I’ve put together a strategic outreach list of state representatives and senators who I believe may be among the most receptive to our cause. You do NOT have to call representatives from your own state. This effort is about strategy, not geography.
This list was compiled by reviewing factors such as voting records, public positions, support for harm-reduction initiatives, and other publicly available information that may indicate a greater likelihood of considering our concerns. I also included a brief introduction at the beginning of the packet.
The first page contains the representativesI believe should be the highest priority. Even if they aren’t from your state, they’re included because they have records related to protecting kratom and extracts in their state, supporting harm-reduction efforts, or taking positions that suggest they may be open to evidence-based regulation over prohibition.
As a bonus, I reviewed a recent Utah bill and identified representatives that voted in favor of keeping Kratom and extracts legal. Even if you’re not in Utah, it’s worth contacting at least 3. I have listed them in the last document, ranked by priority.
BONUS: As much as I dislike bipartisan politics, if you’re contacting a Democratic representative, you may want to mention the publicly available paper trail involving the AKA, Feel Free, and donations or political ties connected to Republican organizations. Explain that these relationships raise questions about whether financial interests, not public safety concerns, may be influencing efforts to support a federal ban.
Emphasize that prohibition driven by market interests rather than science, creates a greater threat to public safety by pushing consumers toward an unregulated illicit market and undermining harm-reduction efforts. Offer to email the representative’s office the relevant articles, campaign finance records, and supporting documentation so they can review the evidence for themselves.
PLEASE CALL AS MANY REPS AS YOU CAN! You can easily call a handful of reps in under 10 minutes and leave a message with their secretary, or a voicemail. WE ARE DAYS AWAY FROM AUGUST 5th SO WE NEED TO CALL!
It would be wise not to forget in your comment to add the fact behind the conspiracy to get 70H banned. Don’t forget to include specific names involved in Corpo/governmental collusion. Heads of the AKA and GKC using their influence to profit. Mark Wayne Mullin’s has a financial incentive in feel free. Both the AKA and GKC have direct financial ties and are bullying their competitors with legislation. It’s right in front of our faces.
For this, I think it would be just as important to not only share the science and facts as to why seven should remain legal, but the direct reasons why this is happening in the first place. Corruption.
For years, the kratom industry in America has presented itself as a loose coalition of small businesses, consumer advocates, and scientists working toward responsible regulation and harm reduction. The plant, chewed or smoked or turned into a tea, is said to have “opioid-like properties” and “stimulant-like effects.” Moreover, it has been used to get people off opioids themselves, with a recent competitor compound, 7-OH, becoming increasingly popular due to it being “significantly more potent than morphine at pain relief.” Searching for 7-OH online provides pages and pages of alarmist headlines, with federal regulators pushing for its classification as a controlled substance in the summer of 2025.Internal emails, public records, and leaked documents reviewed by this publication tell a fascinating story, however, of an internecine industry fight that appears more concerned with profit motives than with consumer choice or patient care.
IN BRIEF.
Over the past eighteen months, a coordinated campaign has emerged. But the effort did not originate with new safety data or a sudden public health emergency. It originated with market pressure.As 7-OH products gained popularity among consumers for their consistency and predictable effects, legacy kratom manufacturers began losing ground. Retailers shifted shelf space. Customers followed. Industry insiders describe severe revenue losses in specific product categories, in some cases enough to threaten entire business lines.Rather than compete directly, industry leaders pursued a different approach. They turned to regulators.
THE FDA MEETING.
In January 2025, a group of scientists and consultants was invited to participate in an informational meeting with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Emails show the meeting was not initiated by FDA scientists, but requested and organized by Sheldon Bradshaw, a former FDA Chief Counsel now serving as regulatory counsel to kratom-aligned interests.Bradshaw’s stated purpose was explicit. In emails circulated ahead of the meeting, he wrote that the goal was to educate FDA regulatory enforcement officials, rather than scientists, about the dangers of 7-OH and to push the agency to remove 7-OH products from the U.S. market.The agenda reflected that objective. It was not limited to chemistry or pharmacology. It included a segment devoted to highlighting alleged criminal histories of individuals associated with 7-OH products. The meeting was scheduled with FDA enforcement lawyers and criminal investigators, not with scientific review staff. Indeed, several invited scientists declined to attend.Johns Hopkins pharmacologist Kirsten Smith cited a lack of transparency about who was organizing the meeting and said she was uncomfortable being asked to discuss criminality as a scientist. Ohio State and Harvard professor Edward Boyer declined as well, writing that removing 7-OH would conveniently preserve market share for kratom vendors and warning that participation could damage his credibility. University of Florida professor Oliver Grundmann withdrew, citing conflicts related to ongoing litigation.Others did attend, including University of Florida medicinal chemist Dr. Christopher McCurdy and consultant Paula Brown. Brown acknowledged in emails that she had asked Bradshaw to organize the meeting specifically to reach FDA enforcement officials.By the time the meeting took place, its purpose was clear. This was not a neutral scientific consultation. It was an enforcement strategy.
UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA’S ROLE.
As internal industry disputes unfolded, public records requests began to reveal the importance of a single academic institution.Emails and documents obtained from the University of Florida show that UF, and McCurdy’s lab in particular, had become a central reference point for kratom policy discussions. McCurdy communicated directly with both FDA and DEA officials. His research was repeatedly cited in regulatory materials. His views appeared to shape how federal agencies discussed risk, synthesis, and scheduling.In August 2025, McCurdy emailed a DEA official, noting that he had been invited to attend an announcement recommending that 7-OH be placed into Schedule I. He requested guidance on obtaining a Schedule I research license in advance, even though the substance had not been scheduled heretofore.The concentration of influence is notable. One laboratory, and specifically one researcher, advised industry groups, corresponded with regulators, and produced the scientific literature used to justify enforcement decisions.This created a dependency, with Federal agencies coming to rely on a single authority whose work intersected directly with industry objectives.
HOW THE DATA WAS PRODUCED.
The most consequential evidence is revealed in a brief email chain from February 2025.Malaysia restricts the export of kratom plant material to recognized research institutions. Private companies and trade groups are not legally entitled to receive it. Emails indicate that the Global Kratom Coalition required Malaysian kratom material to achieve specific regulatory objectives, including arguments related to the status of Old Dietary Ingredients and contributions to an American Herbal Pharmacopoeia monograph.Because the industry could not legally receive the material, the University of Florida agreed to act as the recipient.Emails show UF would accept the shipment, perform herbarium documentation, DNA barcoding, and alkaloid analysis, and that McCurdy expected the industry group to reimburse the university for the work.The arrangement allowed industry-directed research to enter the regulatory system under the banner of academic independence. Regulators later treated data generated at UF as neutral, university-produced science.Industry defined the objective. The university executed the work. Regulators relied on the output.
THE NARRATIVE SHIFT.
With enforcement channels established, public messaging followed. That’s why, if you Google any of this, there’s just a cavalcade of negative, industry-sponsored information with little evidence to back it up.Media stories began framing 7-OH as a “dangerous” synthetic drug. Isolated incidents were amplified into broader warnings. Claims circulated about contaminated products and criminal supply chains, despite the absence of validated toxicology tying those events to 7-OH.The timing coincided with state enforcement actions and proposed legislative changes. The goal was urgency. Pressure regulators to act quickly, before deeper scrutiny could take place.
WHAT THE RECORD REALLY SHOWS.
The research does not indicate an organic public health response. It shows a structured campaign.Industry leaders faced market disruption. Political operatives translated commercial concerns into regulatory language. Academic institutions provided credibility. Regulators acted on data shaped upstream by private interests.Whether 7-OH ultimately warrants regulation is a legitimate question, and that isn’t up for debate. Like anything in this space, the safety of the consumer should take precedence over any business interest or profit motive. But the process documented here did not answer questions through open scientific inquiry.The outcome was decided first. The machinery followed.

Hey guys just want to ask if anyone has that fact sheet of 7 ? The one that shows all the science and stuff like that ? Not the 7Hope one. It’s a three column page with facts statistics and science. It was made a while ago.
My idea is the only hope. MY POINT IS THE ONLY HOPE
Lets start by saying how easy it is to turn MIT into 7oh, like say you leave an Oz of powdered kratom in the sun open air guess what happens, in one week 8% of the MIT is turned into 7oh. This happens naturally with just a little sun night, now ofc ppl can make this reaction faster and higher yield using stuff like pure oxygen and stuff to carry that and a UZ light wink wink.
But my point we should be asking for a 14mg LIMIT instead of 1mg
Kratom will naturally turn MIT into 7-OH in leaf left to say sun dry or get extra sun in on that dry making an Oz of kratom illegal to carry and many people could get hurt just from this fact alone, not even to help us but to prevent hardm with kratom
This is the ONE SINGLE point that might make the DEA change its mind its mind. but no we are putting our doses only giving them feul to the fire of yes this stuff is addictive and even if it doesnt cause death the addiction alone is enough for them to want the ban to happen

Now that i have a reddit voice (sadly too late i feel) i need to scream this from the top. 14mg would give us 14mg tabs we can work with that and once your tolorance goes to 0 youll really be able to work with it. and hell sure you could buy 400 14mg tabs but thats a win isnt it and form my one simple proven point
Even if you just have it playing in the background, wherever you are, every view helps because it will push this live to trend and get the word out.
First and foremost, I want everyone to remember to make a comment, and also have loved ones make comments on your behalf. Second of all, even after this is all said, and done if we don’t win, there is still hope please don’t lose your fight after a negative ruling. Get your ass some MIT extract AND GET TO EMAILING AND ADVOCATING. We will never be able to save the lives of millions from potential overdoses and lifelong pain. If you give up after I for one oh I’m not going to stop after August keep fighting and don’t give up hope.
Yall need to address a threshold or a mg per tablet threshold in your comments. Thats literally what the DEA is asking. They want to take it away, regulate it & bring it back. There is way too much money in it. If you guys don’t take it seriously & give sob stories, we will be stuck with just leaf powder, which is lame & a 1mg threshold or 2% ban. In your comment mention what you think it fair, I think 10-20mg is a fair dose limit. Just letting yall know your comments won’t be taken seriously unless you mention a threshold & it says says on the public comment section.
I wasn’t able to get the time off of work. It hasn’t been an easy time lately, but I’d like to ask someone in attendance to pose a request for me. Ask the originator of the petition on change.org to send out messages, biweekly weekly, or if not daily leading up to the ruling. This is an attempt to catch all strays and make sure anyone who hasn’t caught wind has their opportunity to make their voice heard.
Personally, speaking the change.org automated emails can get drowned out and I don’t think it would be too desperate of a time to start spamming constituents though it may sound unprofessional or downright desperate. I think it would be a really strategic move. Thank you everyone - Bondi

If you've been putting off the challenge because you weren't sure what to write, don't worry about making it perfect. Just tell your story in your own words. Once it's written, save it in your Notes app. You'll be able to reuse it over and over whenever we need to take action in the future.
