Friends in/near Pasadena?

Hello all! I'm looking to make some friends around the Pasadena area to hangout with? Lunch, cafe, activities around, or even just waking to things! I already get out a bit but always by myself, so if anyone wants to join me for some fun days let me know :D

"Joystick" video game mixer is tonight in Burbank, starting 8pm

I mentioned this in a previous thread, and people seemed interested. So here it is as a stand-along post. There will be gays. There will be video games, pinball, and air hockey. There will be a bar.

Which (circuit) parties for Weho Pride this weekend?

GPS and Masterbeat are happening this weekend. It’ll be my first time going in LA, I’ve only been to Masterbeat in NY - it was pretty cool, very packed. Which party do you think will have the most turn out and which, if either, will have a “dark/play room”?

Also if anyone knows any other parties happening or even day/pool parties could you suggest any?

I’m relatively new here and just looking to go out, have fun, but I’m really interested in any parties with a dark room specifically or sex positive parties.

In Case You Were Unaware, Long Beach Pride is CANCELLED (Parade is still on for Sunday, tho.)

Apparently the Pride organizers didn't get their safety inspections done in time, and on Friday afternoon, right before the festival was to start, the city had to pull the permits and the event was effectively canceled.

The parade is still ongoing, because the city itself organizes it. That will be held on Sunday morning.

The other events around the city associated with Pride (e: but not affiliated with the Pride organization) are still happening

Anyone got recommendations for good primary care doctors offices or psychiatrists who practice somewhere between south LA/OC/west Riverside

Context - 33/M and in shape, with no chronic physical health conditions (knock on wood).

Just moved out here and need to establish proper healthcare practioner relations. I do have well-documented ADHD (not a TikTok/COVID-era self-diagnosis, no shade to anyone figuring things out, just clarifying) and am prescribed a pretty ordinary dose of a controlled stimulant medication.

I’m trying to find a doctor who is actually helpful, not dismissive, and not an asshole about doing their job.
Bonus points if they’re gay or cater to working with LGBTQ community, not that it matters, but it’s always a nice luxury to have a doctor “like me.” But I’ll see anyone who’s good at doctoring

Open to hearing about specific PCPs, psychiatrists, primary care clinics, or anywhere else people have had good experiences (like, a good dermatologist who takes Premera Blue Cross would be clutch, but that’s not exactly the priority right now)

Thanks gents!

Loch Ness gays at D line opening

A friend and I decided to ride the D for the grand opening Friday.

It was crowded. The train was full going in at 2pm-ish. Rides were free, so people were stopping at each station, wandering around to look at the art, going outside to check food options, and then getting back on to the next station.

Who shows up to a train opening? Dorks, of course. As we took the train out from Vermont, the usual daytime transit riders vanished and dorks boarded the train. The best way to describe the crowd would be "museum gift shop". Which is to say, they were not wealthy, but they were an educated, sorta quirky crowd. There were twenty-something dudes and older white-haired ladies. All colors, but slightly whiter than the random LA Metro train. The commonality was that they all looked like people who would actually go to a museum and have a coffee in the museum shop.

Which leads me to this observation: There were gays. In twos and threes, generally younger. They were not club gays. They were not bar gays. These were gays I had never really seen in one place before. I suppose they might have been gaming gays. There's a gay video game arcade night I've visited, and I suppose the crowds might overlap.

But when people ask, "where do I meet gays aside from the bars"-- the second-most asked question here next to "which sex club is best for me to get dick"-- I have to think of this crowd.

These are Lock Ness gays. What do I mean by that? They stay out of view. You can go into every gay event and never see them. And there a a whole lot of them.

Events / how to meet kinky guys in LA?

Interested in meeting younger guys exploring kink. Always hesitated to go to any events or bars like the Eagle alone and I don’t have many kinky friends who’d wingman.

How do you guys meet other guys with similar interests? Grindr and recon have been mostly a bust so far.

Wet Wednesdays at Slammer- worth it?

Been to cumunion a couple times and it’s been hit or miss. I know the crowd tends to generally lean older but wondering if it’s any different for this event

Stare-step-turn cruising

Who has been cruised IRL using the stare-step-turn? In other words, where you make eye contact with the guy, walk past him, then turn to see if he's turned back too.

I think of this as more of a NYC thing (or other cities where people walk more) but I'm curious if you've had success with it in LA. Where?
