i’m auditioning tomorrow and it’s honestly my luck after being LATE FIVE DAYS that my period would start the night before i planned to audition lmao !!!

i’m honestly so annoyed about it but i don’t want to wait so is cutting the tampon string really the move. from what i’ve read it seems to be common enough.

Hi so i am planning to go my first audition next week and i have some questions i don’t hear many people talk about.

1.) How do you gather your money after a stage set?

2.) How do you end the service with a guy after the dance is over

3.) How do you file taxes and tax return as a 1099 employee

4.) Do i need pleaser/platform heels for the audition or can i wear normal heels?

5.) How do i approach a man when he comes into the club when there are other dancers? Like isn’t everyone trying to compete with you to talk to customers or do you rotate or what?

6.) Where do i give a man a lap dance if it’s not VIP? Just in a normal chair in the lounge?

hi! i’m 24(f) and i’ve been dancing for over a year and a half. recently, i’ve been down on my luck, trying to apply to full-time jobs but always end up in internships. i’ve just started to consider actually taking pole seriously and at least start to get paid for it, but i have no idea where to start.

i know i’d like to work in predominantly queer spaces as a queer woman of color. i have a network in brooklyn already, but i’d rather ask pole/dancer professionals that work in the clubs. i am as also open to being a go-go dancer. do any of you have experience in queer clubs and what would you recommend for a beginner?

I’ve searched high and low on Reddit and can only find like 1 post about gown clubs. What did yall feel most comfortable in?

I have always been interested in exploring the potential of stripping but I just have a few questions before starting! It seems like a lot of the questions are more US based so I am wondering if it is different for Toronto/Ontario based clubs.

1. What is the audition process like, and what should I wear?

2. What are some good places to consider in Toronto?

3. What kind of dances should I expect to do?

4. What happens if no one approaches you?

5. i am a little intimidated by experienced dancers, will it be an issue?

6. What am I expected to do on normal days?

I recently got off my birth control implant and I have a rather heavy flow typically. How do you guys deal with this when you have to dance?

I audition in 3 hours, not to toot my own horn but I am extremely attractive and very pretty so thats not a problem, I’ve done tons of research, I have the right heels and multiple outfits, fully packed bag, called the club and asked all the right questions. I just literally can’t dance or look smooth and sexy 😭, I practiced and practiced for a while, tons of tutorials, move slowly and intentionally, but it just doesn’t look right together, I look out of place. I’m very confident about it but it just wont come together. I need to audition today so any tips would help!! Literally anything!!

Is it just me or has the club been so slow this month?? August is by far the worst month I have ever had. I started dancing last year October so this is my first August. I’m literally about to cry.. I’m so desperate for money 😩. I work in one of the biggest club in Dallas and I hate it here!

Hi everyone, I’m a 26-year-old woman, and I will start stripping in a club in a few weeks. I was hired this summer to start my journey at this club, and I’m both really excited and so, so nervous.

First of all, I’m an autistic woman, and I left my job because I couldn’t deal with all of these interactions. It was really hard for me to handle all the rules, schedules, and everything, and it was making me really depressed.
I’m also a dancer, and I’ve already been a sex worker during my studies, but it was online. So I thought a lot before contacting some clubs in France, where I live. I’m not jumping into this overnight. I’ve been seriously considering getting into stripping for about two years now, because I’ve realized that traditional employment just doesn’t work for me.

I’m also fully aware that stripping isn’t some perfect escape route and that it will probably be difficult in its own ways. But I have the feeling that it could work better with the way I am and with my needs, at least when it comes to work.

I’m still quite excited to start this job. In a way, it will allow me to dance regularly, which I’m really happy about. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people, getting out of my little bubble and my city, discovering new places, and getting out of my comfort zone. I’m happy that I’ll mainly be working with other women, and I’m excited to discover a completely new job and do something on my own. It’s not really like me to just leave my city and go somewhere far away to do something like this, so I’m actually quite proud of myself for taking the leap.

But on the other hand, what makes me so nervous is that I have quite a lot of difficulty approaching other people. I’m a bit shy, and I’m usually more comfortable with other people coming to me and chatting with me than the other way around.

So, I’m really nervous because I won’t be working in the city where I live. I’ll actually be working quite far from home, so I’ll have to live in a flat with some other dancers. I’ll be in a city I don’t know, in a flat that isn’t mine, with people I don’t know. I’ll be starting a new job, and I have no clue what it’s going to be like.

I’ll also have to deal with customers, and even though I’m used to dealing with customers because I work in retail, this is obviously not the same type of interaction at all. I’m afraid of becoming completely overwhelmed by them and by the way they might behave towards me.

I’m also a bit nervous about the owner of the club. I’ve heard some good things about him, and apparently he’s not the worst club owner at all, but he’s still a man, and he’s an older man owning a strip club, so I don’t know… It makes me a bit nervous.

And with all of this, even though I’m usually able to go with the flow and I’m able to have nice interactions with people, I’m afraid that I’ll become so overwhelmed that I’ll just completely freeze.

So I wanted to know if some of you are in the same situation as me, or have been in a similar situation. How did you deal with all of this? And do you have any tips?

My very first night I made 86 bucks, which was ok for a slow night at the club and having to leave REALLY early. But I've come nowhere close since. I made maybe 12 bucks after tip out on Friday night, and I literally left with 6 dollars after tip out tonight.

Everyone keeps telling me to just hold out for the season to pick up and to try coming in for days but I'm starting to wonder if it's just me. I'd like to think they wouldn't have hired me if I couldn't make any money but yet here I am. I do the same things everyone else is doing but I'm for sure the lowest consistent earner in the club.

I don't have huge fake tits but not all the girls in my club do either, I'm not the only member of the itty bitty titty committee there by a long shot lol and it's not like I'm making nothing at all but damn near.

Should I try a different club? Mine is waaaay more low key than most. We do have a sister club that's more hustle and bustle but IDK if I have to audition there too or if I'm good being contracted with the sister club already. The club I'm at does have a reputation in town for being kinda bottom of the barrel but the girls are down right gorgeous and make hella money, I'm taking thousands a night. And here I am with my lil 6 dollars.

Any tips or advice is appreciated.

I've been working in the club on and off since the beginning of the year. Without fail, I get sick every time I work more than a day a week, to the point where my friends and I have started referring to the club as 'man daycare'.

As far as I know, I'm doing everything right: washing my outfits every time I wear them, showering and taking makeup off as soon as I get home, even disinfecting my phone every night.

Honestly at this point I think I'm allergic to the carpet, smoke machine, my lipstick, or SOMETHING at the club cause this is fuckin ridiculous!

I also do private party waitressing and shows and have never had an issue...the club just breeds germs like a daycare HAHA

Edit: cause a couple people have asked, my symptoms are pretty similar to a head cold - congested, wet cough, sore throat, headaches, etc. Though a few months back when I bit the bullet and worked three days in a row, I got a full on flu and was bed bound and off for weeks. I'm pretty consistent with baby wipes after every stage but I'll be adding hand sanitizer to my locker for when I get off the floor. Unfortunately we can't carry anything around with us, otherwise I'd keep a bottle on me.
