Its been 3 weeks now since I got my Grip, it’s the best thing I have ever bought. Ive been wearing it 24/7 with the exception of cleaning and a couple days me, the g/f were away for a couple concerts and wanted it off for easier bathroom use at the venues, and when she decides she wants to play. Now that I know it’s comfortable with no issue, I will be ordering a new custom one. and also this morning my gf/KH took the extra key I had, so I’m now 100% locked unless she is here and wants me unlocked.

There are days I don’t even realize I’m wearing it, Im small flaccid so I would have issues with 🐢 . after wearing the grip now that doesn’t happen and my penis most days hangs away from myself in my briefs, it does sometime create a noticeable bulge depending on the pants or shorts I am wearing.

Just got my belt, the trian fit looks and feels good but trying to figure out the best way to slip on. While I do distracting things to stay small, I have "sticky" or dry skin that clings to the tube, any recommendations to slide it on easier without risking the grip. Steel belts I use Vaseline but not sure if it's safe with this "plastic".

I’ve had a grip now for over a year never posted about it. I have had 2 1 that broke(my fault) and the current . This is the second summer with it and it’s great in comfort and fitment. 34 shaft 25glans +1 shaft -1 head.

I have noticed that mid way thru summer I’ll have to change out my lock due to erosion of salt water. And sometimes it prints more when wet but not noticeable unless you are staring at it. But the grip is fine. Get a slight pinch on balls when wearing tighter pants and or underwear. That and sometimes my urethra doesn’t stay 100% center but other than that it’s fantastic.

Both wife and girlfriend love it and both hold a key. Not for everyone but it works for us difficult at times

Okay, so before I start, a few disclaimers. The key is that, even though I couldn't make the Grip work for me yet, this isn't a post of disappointment - it's kinda what I expected, and I'll be trying some options in the near future. I'm mainly posting to document my thought process and what I've learned so far, as it might be helpful to some, and maybe folks have opinions and thoughts. I'm actually positively surprised, despite not having been able to make it fully work yet. This will be a long one to provide all context, and I'll add subheadlines so you can skip parts if you want. No images, and I'm unlikely to provide images unless there's a really good argument for it.

Background

So, for context: I'm a non-binary weirdo with a naturally-grown and still attached penis and still attached foreskin; but unnaturally suppressed testosterone and very dominant estrogen. It's been that way for a long time, and neither factoid is likely to change in the near future. So that means the physical changes of hormones have run their course, namely: a) significant ball shrinkage, b) significant penile shrinkage in both diameter and length (the real kind, not the kind that you see fantasized about on other subreddits), c) a general softening of tissue.

The last point is especially significant for the Grip, because the skin on my dick is much softer, and the tissue itself has changed consistency a lot. The glans is oddly soft and squishy, and the corona "ridge" is not very firm at all. Also, my foreskin is kinda loose from being heavily overweight a while ago, and since skin doesn't just disappear from losing weight, there's still lots of it.

I'm being kinda explicit here because I know there are a lot of trans or trans-adjacent folks in very similar spots to mine, and they're also just looking for a solution. Since this is still Reddit, I really hope this doesn't turn into a transphobic fest in comments or DMs, but oh well. :)

Experience and Requirements

My partner and I have been doing chastity for many years. It started on one of the CB-xxxx series. I also have HolyTrainers of multiple generations and some experience with Kink3D devices. Especially with Kink3D stuff, we had good times.

We don't do long-term stuff. We're in a somewhat medium-distance relationship where we usually only see each other on weekends, and she likes to keep me locked up during the week. Sometimes it's a bit more chaotic than that, but generally speaking, I'm not locked up for many weeks or even months, both for hygiene reasons and for very real "use it or lose it" medical reasons(tm).

In recent times, ball-trap-style devices have become completely unusable, as my remaining balls either slip right through. If I use a super-tight ring, they just hurt really, really badly, so we had to stop. Also, getting a piercing is not an option at all, getting circumcized is also absolutely not an option, and a full-belt-style thing isn't logistically feasible. So we looked into shaft-only devices, either with or without a tetherspout.

What I measured and ordered, and why

I 3D printed the measuring kit - thanks for making that available. My only suggestion would be to maybe add the 0/-1/-2 lengths as additional markers, just to provide some context.

I followed the general advice and measured with the foreskin covering everything and picked a ring that was tight enough not to slip away, but not too tight as to cause any pressure marks. Ended up with a 30mm diameter and a length 1 shaft. The main idea here was to allow the foreskin to be partially or fully inside the shaft, as I wanted to avoid it "bulking up" behind the device and creating constant forward-push pressure.

For rings, I decided that the Geometric v2 Unified rings with wings on both sides would probably be the most promising, especially since the corona ridge is less firm than you'd assume. With the "just send me all rings that fit pls" option checked, I got all rings from 20 mm to 24 mm. Using the measurement rings and the "pull on the tab" method described in the sizing guide, I ended up at around 22mm, which sounded good.

Also, heart pattern and pink. Because my partner saw it, and she made the decision for me. 10/10 design offering right there.

We included the tetherspout experimental hood in the order. I don't actually own one yet, but I expected this to be a possible workaround for potential issues.

Initial experience

Delivery times were as expected, and so was shipping. I ran into a mild issue with UPS, but that's not the company's fault; it's just that the customs folks in my country are known to be very annoying. We managed to get it resolved. I got very fast and friendly responses from the support email, 10/10! The package arrived on Tuesday, and (un)fortunately, I was at home on PTO with my partner, so we had time to trial-run it.

Immediately, we realized that the "over the foreskin" method is absolutely not working for me. But that's... expected and probably true for almost everyone.

The "retracted" foreskin approach has been interesting. For the shaft, my original plan to keep the foreskin inside the shaft doesn't appear to work. It still mostly bunches up behind the shaft, creating forward pressure. Manually shoving it in works, but not always, and not reliably. It sometimes moves and twists weirdly, and sometimes it just pushes directly onto the ring. So that's no good.

For me, the rings up to and including 21mm slip off way too easily, and sometimes just when idling. The 20mm ring is the only one I couldn't just pull off (or pulled itself off), but also only to a point. I made it 12 hours with almost no issues, which was kinda impressive. However, taking a hot shower absolutely allowed me to just pull it off with ease. And worse, after enough teasing, the ring sometimes slips a few mm forward on top of the glans, and then the next tiny erection results in the wings pressing into surprisingly sensitive tissue, which I can't recommend. Also, I noticed some light pressure marks on the glans. Nothing severe and they disappeared quickly, but it might be a sign that I'd need a longer good.

With all that being said, the fact that I could make the 20mm ring work effectively on the first try is a good sign. It has problems for me, and being teased in it is just not a good activity, but I do see potential ways forward here.

Possible future options: Reprints

So, I've been thinking. Since the plan of "foreskin within the shaft" doesn't work, I think I should explore smaller diameters for the area without the foreskin. Using my measurement rings again, I think the shaft would be somewhere in the 26-28mm range. However, because that would mean I could no longer make room for the foreskin, I'd probably need a much shorter shaft, -1 or even -2. Also, probably a +2mm glans hood length to reduce the pressure marks I saw.

Also, ring-wise, I should probably try even smaller rings, but maybe without the wings. Or maybe still with wings. Or maybe the 20mm ring is fine since a narrower shaft would give more stability? This one is hard to predict. :/

Given I can't just order all of the possible permutations, I need to spend a bit more time thinking here, and I'd value your input, too.

Also: tetherspout

As I said earlier, I ordered the tetherspout glans hook, despite it saying "not much feedback yet". I do plan to provide feedback, and we have already measured and ordered one. However, it'll take a few weeks before we have time to evaluate this, but I pinky-promise to post another update then. Hopefully that one will be shorter, but who knows?

Luckily, if I get a tetherspout, it should be feasible to wear the foreskin completely inside the shaft. I gave this a quick try-run with the shaft and the hood on, and it seems promising. Since I get weekly-ish unlocks anyway, and the tetherspout should result in less mess inside the device, that should be workable. So I think the 30mm shaft still has a life to explore!
