How easy is it to go from MGM to subs? And what would the process be?

I’m going to a subs appointment on Thursday. I’ve been on about 100mg/day. I’ve seen people mentioning precipitated WD and Bernese Method so I’m kinda nervous about getting on the subs.
How should I go about doing this? How long after dosing MGM do you have to wait to dose the Subs to avoid precipWD?
I’ve seen people suggest to switch to 7oh then subs, does Subs not cause precipWD with 7oh?

Day 13 Stomach issues & Diarrhea are still not going away. Is this normal?

So I’ve been off of mgm-15 for 13 days or so. I took sr for 2 days, mit extract for an additional 2 days, then made the cold turkey jump with a little bit of plain leaf every couple days or so. But I’ve had liquid diarrhea ever since I got off the mgm & I’ve barely been eating for days because of it. I know it’s dehydrating me like hell because liquid will cause it aswell. Should I be concerned something else is going on and go see a doctor? Or will it subside eventually?

South Fl

just saw how many people commented on my Florida post. Started my subs today and feel no withdrawals. First time I stopped 7stax and got on subs it took me a few days to feel better but I was taking up to five a day then

this time I guess the taper helped out a lot with the switch. I work out in the sun also so I sweated like crazy last 2 days. Man, I’m so excited to have a good night sleep again

plan on taking as many subs as I need to these first four days and then after that, cut my dose in half and taper from there never getting back on this shit I feel so good and happy right now to know that it’s finally over been in withdrawal for weeks just chasing it away with funds running low this was perfect timing and allowed me to keep working

10mg

I tapered down to 10mg today. I’ve been using SR. It was brutal today. I threw up. I was shitting all day. Sneezing, leaking, confusion, anxiety. Everything. I took 10mg. I’m ok now. Not dying. Not 100%. But not dying. Is 10mg a lot? I’m going to try to go without tomorrow. I went 24 hours before taking the 10mg

Akathisia. Propanol or Clonidine?

Today is day 3 of no MGM-15 and the akathisia(super restlessness/feeling like I'm going to burst out of my skin) is the worst symptom.

By a strange twist of fate I happen to actually have a lot of propanol and low dose clonidine. Google says that propanol is the first line treatment for the akathisia, but clonidine is supposed to be good too.

Which do you guys think is best? I just had to cave in and have like 3 eyedroppers of "Super K" and I think that it's going to help a bit, but I am at this point where I feel like I am CLOSE to the end and would rather not take any form of Kratom products anymore.

I would also like to add this memo, drinking beer with friends last night was a baaad idea. It makes the akathisia much worse. Definitely going completely clean today.

1/2 life questions

Why does everyone say that MGM holds them for so long? I’ve heard upwards of 24hrs. I have WD 7-8hrs after my last dose. Usually my last dose is at 9-10pm before bed. I wake up 3-4am feeling like crap sweating profusely, watery eyes, and the hyper sneezing begins. I really have to try hard to make it 6hrs between doses during the day to avoid WDs..

This is true even before I started my taper on July 4th. Most mornings I would be sick before I would dose. Obviously it’s more pronounced since I started to taper from 400mg to 180-200mg. Granted this first drop hasn’t been hard. Just minor discomfort but the early mornings are hardest. I am almost running to the cabinet to dose for relief.

Mega dose Vit C for MGM withdrawal

I have read great reports for megadosing Vit C for regular opi withdrawal, but has anyone tried it for MGM? (without also using SR). I’m curious if it seems to help.

A complete guide to tapering off MGM-15 AND 7-OH

In lieu of the news of banning kratom products, I will share what has helped my husband and helped me the first time tapering off.

As we all know, it is important to start tapering off over time (i.e., minimizing your amount of MGM or 7-OH that you are taking every day).

MGM / 7-OH Withdrawal Survival Guide (Harm Reduction)

This isn't medical advice. It's a collection of things that many people in the kratom and opioid recovery community have found helpful. Everyone's withdrawal is different. If you have severe symptoms or underlying health conditions, seek medical care.

The Basics (Most Important)

Before worrying about supplements, focus on these:

- Stay hydrated.

- Replace electrolytes, not just water.

- Eat something, even if it's small.

- Sleep whenever your body lets you.

- Take hot showers or baths.

- Go for short walks if you can tolerate them.

- Remember that withdrawal is temporary, even when it doesn't feel like it.

Electrolytes ⭐

One of the most important things you can do.

Kratom and MGM can contribute to dehydration, and withdrawal often makes it worse through sweating, diarrhea, vomiting (for some people), poor appetite, and simply not drinking enough fluids.

Replacing electrolytes, especially sodium, is often more helpful than drinking plain water alone. Sodium helps your body absorb and retain the water you're drinking, which is especially important if you're losing fluids.

Good options:

- LMNT (very high sodium)

- Pedialyte

- Liquid I.V.

- DripDrop

- Coconut water (great for potassium but relatively low in sodium)

May help with:

- Dehydration

- Muscle cramps

- Weakness

- Dizziness

- Headaches

- Fatigue

Tip: Sip electrolytes throughout the day instead of trying to drink a large amount all at once.

Sodium Ascorbate (Buffered Vitamin C)

Many people in the kratom and opioid withdrawal community report that high dose Sodium Ascorbate helps lessen body aches, fatigue, and the overall "flu like" feeling of withdrawal.

Scientific evidence is still limited, but it's one of the most commonly discussed supplements for opioid withdrawal support.

Look specifically for SODIUM ASCORBATE.

Do NOT buy regular Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) if you're planning on using higher doses. Sodium Ascorbate is buffered and is much easier on your stomach.

Commonly reported dosage:

- 2,000 to 3,000 mg (2 to 3 grams) every 2 to 4 hours while awake during the first several days of withdrawal.

- As symptoms improve, gradually reduce the amount over the next few days.

Possible benefits:

- Body aches

- Flu like symptoms

- Fatigue

- Overall withdrawal discomfort

Agmatine Sulfate

A favorite supplement in the kratom community.

Some people report it helps:

- Lower opioid tolerance

- Reduce withdrawal severity

- Muscle pain

- Anxiety

- Cravings

Black Seed Oil (Nigella sativa)

Another commonly recommended supplement.

May help with:

- Anxiety

- Restlessness

- Mild pain

- Sleep

- General withdrawal discomfort

L-Theanine

May help:

- Anxiety

- Racing thoughts

- Stress

- Relaxation

Magnesium Glycinate

May help:

- Restless legs

- Muscle tension

- Sleep

- Anxiety

- Muscle cramps

Avoid magnesium oxide if possible, as it commonly causes diarrhea.

Creatine Monohydrate

May help with:

- Low energy

- Muscle recovery

- Fatigue

- Exercise performance as you recover

DLPA (DL-Phenylalanine)

Evidence is limited, but some people report improvements in:

- Mood

- Motivation

- Natural endorphin production

- Mild pain

Omega-3 Fish Oil

May support:

- Mood

- Brain recovery

- Inflammation

B-Complex Vitamins

Helpful if you've been eating poorly.

Supports:

- Energy production

- Nervous system function

Prescription Medications (Talk to Your Doctor)

Clonidine ⭐

One of the best supported non-opioid medications for withdrawal.

Can help:

- Sweating

- Chills

- Anxiety

- Racing heart

- High blood pressure

- Restlessness

It can lower blood pressure, so it should only be taken as directed.

Gabapentin

Many people report significant relief from:

- Restless legs

- Anxiety

- Sleep problems

- Nerve pain

Gabapentin can also cause dependence with long term use.

Hydroxyzine

May help:

- Anxiety

- Sleep

- Itching

Benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium)

Can reduce:

- Severe anxiety

- Panic

- Insomnia

Use only if prescribed. They carry a significant risk of dependence and can be dangerous when combined with opioids, alcohol, or other sedatives.

Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex)

For people with severe dependence, this is one of the most effective evidence based treatments for opioid withdrawal and long term recovery. It should be started under appropriate medical guidance because taking it too soon after some opioids can trigger precipitated withdrawal.

Experimental / Use With Caution

SR-17018 (Research Compound)

SR-17018 is sometimes discussed in opioid and kratom recovery communities because of early research involving opioid tolerance and withdrawal.

It is a G-protein biased mu-opioid receptor agonist that researchers are studying because it appears to interact with opioid receptors differently than traditional opioids.

Some animal studies have suggested it may reduce certain withdrawal like effects and impact opioid tolerance.

Some people in the kratom community report using SR-17018 for:

- Withdrawal discomfort

- Taper support

- Restlessness

- Body aches

- Cravings

Important:

- It is NOT an FDA approved medication

- Human research is extremely limited

- There is no established safe dosing protocol

- Quality and purity can vary when obtained outside research settings

- Long term effects are unknown

Because it still interacts with opioid receptors, it should be approached carefully and treated as an experimental substance, not a guaranteed withdrawal cure.

Ketamine (Prescription / Medical Setting)

Ketamine is sometimes discussed in opioid and kratom recovery communities because of its effects on mood, depression, pain signaling, and neuroplasticity.

Some people report benefits with:

- Depression during recovery

- Anxiety symptoms

- Chronic pain

- Emotional distress during difficult withdrawal periods

Ketamine does not directly replace opioids and is not considered a standard opioid withdrawal medication.

Important:

- Should ideally be used under medical supervision

- Can cause dissociation, dizziness, sedation, increased blood pressure, nausea, and other side effects

- Has misuse and dependence potential

- Effects vary significantly between people

For some individuals, medically supervised ketamine treatment may be helpful as part of a larger recovery plan, but it should be approached with caution.

Over-the-Counter Medications

Loperamide (Imodium)

Can help with diarrhea.

Only use as directed on the label. Taking very high doses is dangerous and can cause life-threatening heart rhythm problems.

Ibuprofen / Naproxen

Helpful for:

- Body aches

- Joint pain

- Muscle pain

Acetaminophen (Tylenol)

May help:

- Headaches

- Fever

- General aches

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Sleep

Sleep is usually one of the hardest parts of withdrawal.

Things people commonly use:

- Magnesium Glycinate

- L-Theanine

- Melatonin (many people find 0.5 to 3 mg is enough)

Even if you only sleep a couple of hours, your body is still recovering.

Foods That Are Easy to Eat

Even if you have no appetite, try to eat something.

Good options:

- Bananas

- Oatmeal

- Rice

- Toast

- Soup

- Eggs

- Greek yogurt

- Applesauce

- Crackers

- Protein shakes

- Smoothies

Small meals throughout the day are better than nothing.

Things That Usually Make Withdrawal Worse

- Alcohol

- Dehydration

- Too much caffeine

- Not eating

- Staying isolated

- Taking large amounts of Benadryl (diphenhydramine), which can worsen restless legs for some people

Recovery Timeline (General)

Everyone is different, but many people experience:

Days 1 to 2

- Anxiety

- Sweating

- Body aches

- Restlessness

Days 2 to 5

- Usually the hardest part

- Poor sleep

- Restless legs

- Fatigue

- GI symptoms

Week 2

- Physical symptoms usually improve significantly

Weeks 3 to 8

- Energy, motivation, and sleep gradually continue to improve

Final Thoughts

Withdrawal is temporary.

It may feel impossible while you're in it, but thousands of people have made it through, and you can too. Focus on getting through today, not the next month.

Hydrate. Eat. Rest. Take a shower. Go for a short walk if you can.

Every hour you stay off MGM or 7-OH is another hour closer to feeling like yourself again.

If you develop severe dehydration, chest pain, trouble breathing, confusion, or thoughts of harming yourself, seek medical care immediately.

MGM -> ODSMT

Many people transfer to 7oh but that is illegal here.

I am going to attempt this option.

ODSMT is a prodrug for tramadol, a very weak opioid.

I’m getting funds together now and will report here if all goes well.

Well I was tested today, day 6, and failed…

Went to buy a vape, another habit I really need to quit, left the house for the first time since my last dose, and the dude at the shop recognized me from a couple months ago when I bought hyroxi there. Told me $20/pack and he has some in the back. I literally felt like I was gonna have diarrhea and got goose bumps immediately. Funny how your brain works.

I was on 12 of these fuckers a day at my highest and tapered down and got off everything for 5 full days and couldn’t say no, sorry Nancy Reagan. I took 2 of them and was floored, must admit I felt amazing which I haven’t felt in the last month or so as they didn’t work great for me anymore towards the end of my brief 3-4 month current binge. Before that I was clean for 5 years besides a couple weekend benders on various opiates that somehow landed in my lap.

I took them around 2pm and haven’t taken any of my sr this evening like I usually do. Going to see how I feel in the am when I wake up. Maybe it was a hack to complete my quit but I doubt it. Would be awesome if I just feel like I do now, 10 hours later, when I wake up tomorrow am. Hopefully this doesn’t set me back too much. I selfishly am glad Florida banned this stuff. If it was sold everywhere I couldn’t control myself unfortunately. I understand some people can use it responsibly and they should be allowed to do so, but I’m not that person. I’m 100% an addict I just need to go back to being addicted to healthy things and heal my brain. It’s a long road ahead and I’ve been down in many times in the past 15 years. But I always feel better taking the sober path when the honeymoon phase ends. That phase gets shorter and shorter with each relapse and wd gets harder and harder.

Sorry for the rant just wanted to get it off my chest as I’ve been telling everyone here how awesome sr is and trying to help them get helper meds etc. I’m weak and currently a failure but I believe there’s still hope for me as long as this shit stays off the shelves.

First day of sr. Here is my game plan.

Today is my first day of sr doses and all I've taken so far was the crumbs off the scale after weighing my doses last night and my 25mg dose this morning. Already I can tell that this is going to work. My goal is to taper and switch back to my subs but if I feel well enough I'm going to quit completely. Here's my sr schedule.

Today I'm taking 3 doses of sr. 25mg each. 160mg mgm

Tomorrow I'm upping it slightly 50mg×25×25. 100mg mgm

Next day 50×50×25. 50mg mgm

Day after 50×50×50 20mg mgm

Saturday 75×50×50 by this point I'm going to try and make the switch to plain leaf and subs. If not I'll push it back to Wednesday.

Sunday 75×75×50. 8mg subs

Monday 75×3. 8mg subs

Tuesday 100×75×75. 4mg subs

Wednesday 100×3. I'm going to quit subs this day because I'm taking the rest of the week off and wont be coming back to work for a full 8 days. This might be the day I quit mgm for good if I failed to kick it over the last weekend.

Thursday its going to be 125×100×100 then.

Friday I start tapering off 100×3.

Saturday 100×75×75.

Sunday 75×3.

Monday 75×75×50.

Tuesday 75×50×50.

Wednesday 50×50×50.

Thursday I'm back to work so its a stabilization day 50×3.

Friday 50×50×25.

Saturday 50×25×25.

Sunday 25×25×25.

Monday 25×10×25.

Tuesday 25×10×10.

Wednesday 10×10×10.

Thursday I'm back off of work 10×0×10.

Friday 10×0×0.

Wish me luck. Let me know if you feel like I should modify this plan at all. My doses of my doc are subject to change based off how well I feel throughout the whole experience. I'm starting from a pretty high dose of mgm so I might be a bit optimistic on how much I'm able to cut my doses. I'm going to be taking black seed oil throughout the whole experience to help with delta wd's and agmatine sulfate + magnesium glucinate along with a bunch of other helper meds. Pray for me as I need this to work.

When should I jump on SR?

Hey guys, I’ve tapered down from 360mg per day over the last couple months, and just started at 90mg per day and still adjusting. I have some SR -17018 and I am wondering when I should jump off MGM-15 and use it? I can continue to taper a little lower, as I’d rather it be as easy as possible when I quit. Thanks for the help!

Please help

Hi
I got a scale & I thought it measured down to the milligrams. It does grams & other abbreviations I’m not familiar with. I’m trying to measure out my doses to get off this stuff.
I have 5 grams of SR when I’m done tapering this mgm crap. Got powder mgm this time instead of tabs cause thought it would be better to taper. I’m taking to much a day, around 2-3500 milligrams a day.
Can anyone take the time to explain it to me like I’m a 5 th grader how too measure amount correctly. I literally failed algebra in HS it had me to the point of tears….🤣. Really would appreciate help figuring this out very much.
I hope everyone is doing ok battling this beast.
Thank you so much

Tapering update MGM-15 (18)MG Ritually Pure Tabs

I just wanted to get some support and tell everyone my experience so far. I’m in Florida and originally was hooked on 7OH then the ban came and I was able to get off using subs. Went through QUICK M/D and did a short quick taper. It still sucked but the subs truly helped then one day after being months clean of 7 I found 7 stax. I’ve been on/off 7 stax for probably 9 months now but a few months back I started buying pure MGM Tabs bc I just couldn’t afford the SS tabs anymore and was trying to save money. I have over 250 18MG MGM tabs from ritually pure bc when I heard about a potential ban I freaked out and spent about $380 on Tabs so I know I could taper comfortably. My wife has been a saint through all of this and I’m truly surprised she’s still here by my side. Just 3 weeks ago I was on 200MG A DAY but that was mixing 7 stax with the 18MG MGM TABS but last week I transitioned over to just the MGM tabs and last week alone my daily intake Monday - Sunday was only 31.5 MG a day. I take 9MG around 8am before work, wait roughly 6-10 hours dose another 9MG, then my last dose of the day I only wait 4-6 hours and was dosing 13.5 MG. Mondays are my taper down day and I’m dropping 4.5 MGS each week (every Monday). Today I only took 27 MGS and I’m just going to keep dropping each week 4.5 MGs until I’m completely off and finally done with this shit. It’s hasn’t been painless bc I kinda rapid tapered the first couple weeks but I just wanted to write this up and encourage ppl that this can be done. I’ve been an addict all my life, first started with alcohol, then came the oxys, (which I got off doing outpatient program) with methadone so I’ve always had addict mentalities but then came the 7OH/MGM. I’m finally feeling a little bit of confidence but mentally it has been very hard but I just keep telling myself this will all be worth it. I have helper meds like gabapentin/ a few benzos, SR, and left over subs from my 7OH days. I’m honestly not really sure WHY I’m writing this but just wanted ppl to know that tapering is possible you just have to have the will power. I’m not fully out of it YET, but I’m on the right track. Just wanted to say thanks to a lot of ppl on this subreddit and my wife for believing in me and sticking with me and by my side. I will try to update everybody with how I’m doing/feeling these next couple months coming down on my taper. Thanks for reading and have a great night!!
